Animal Kingdom BOat Ride??

When I first went to Animal Kingdomin 1998 we rode a boat around the middle section of the park! What happened to it ? It seems like they always take out the boat rides b/c didnt they have a boat ride next to the Haunted Mansion and next to the castle?

The boat ride at AK was removed, don't know why. Yeah, the use to have a boat ride in that area at MK, I think they took it out. It was The Mike Fink Keel Boats.

Oh is that why i haven't been seeing the boats been going by anymore? They still have the station up.. It wasn't much just a simple boat ride around the Tree of Life and near the Dragon's Cave.

I have to say though it was a nice way to rest and it was relaxing. :lol:

The Swan Boats!!!

Don't forget the swan boats that used to go around the castle in the MK!!!

ah, they had swan boats at MK? Were they swan pettle boats?

no, I'm pretty sure they had motors. The swan boats ran until the early 80's I think. I believe the dock is still there.

Oh if i can remember MK that much, i think if im correct thats its on the area near the bridge entering TommorowLand right? Its near some dining area, and it has some pic nic tables down there now.

OK.. The swan boats went away in I belive 1980. They were natural gas powered boats and cruised from the Rose Garden dock on the Tomorrowland side, and there was a fleet of 11 passenger boats, and 1 cleaning boat. The cleaning boat is still used after park hours to clean the moat.

k, i know where the docks r now.. that sure was a large transport ride, maybe 20seconds....

Wasn't that boat ride around the Tree of Life orientated with Radio Disney? I read about it in a guide book, but never saw it.

yes, it was...at least when i rode it, it was! and i gotta tell ya, it was a stinker! i hated it! i was glad to see it go! i was hoping it would be a jungle cruise type ride (without the animal animatronics) but i was sadly mistaken! i wish they would do something with it though! put in more scenery, and make it more interesting (as in have the skipper talk, and dish out some good info...don't just have a bit of Radio Disney playing the whole ride!)
