Thanks Nibbs. It's not too bad. Could be worse. Just SO crazy! I had to set up/host/attend a info and health screening table at a community event for 4 hours in a non-airconditioned gym. Later I have to drive to our facility a county away and work the high school sports physicals, then go to the Sleep Lab and do a photo shoot. Not to mention the regular desk work I need to get done. Oy! I'm tired!:snore: I'll be lucky if I'm home before 8 again.
My goodness that's crazy!

Wow, I'm even more tired reading that! :dazzle: Well...the housework is getting done....very, VERY slowly. Joel went back this afternoon, but the eye is still a little sensitive. Still holding out taking him to the doctor, because I know how it will go once we're there. :hammer: The eye doesn't look damaged, just tender and sensitive to light.
I have a tons of kitchen cleanup to get done. Mom and Dad are coming up for cake and ice cream...I have to say I did NOT inherit the decorating cakes gene from my mother. I looked like I was drunk trying to write happy birthday on the cake :lookaroun At least it will taste good. Fudge marble :slurp::slurp:
Well just don't tell Abby you were drunk...she might not appreciate it....:lookaroun

Morning all!
Joel has his eye open, but the upper lid is still only halfway up. I'm taking him to school and talking to the school nurse, but I may be calling the eye doctor as well. Cleaning the kitchen today, and more tidying. Abby's party is tomorrow night, so I'm in serious countdown mode. :sohappy: Bought all the goodies for the chocolate fountain. :slurp::slurp:
Chocolate Fountain...*runs off to look for airfare*

In other news I think Jerry Springer is going to looking up my family soon...:brick:

For those with little ones... what came first when planning a baby's/infant's room? Crib? Bedding? Wall color?
Is it even possible to buy bedding without first having the crib, due to sizing and styles?

For me, since our house was already painted "nursery" colors, I just kept with the blue and yellow theme, regardles of what we were having. Some people pick a theme (princesses, butterflies, bears, baseball) and theme around that, painting the walls and so forth to match it.

Nearly all cribs are standard, so buying bedding won't really be an issue. Buy away - although I did stay away from crib bumpers. Never was really an issue with us, with her bumping around. Plus it's a SIDS risk up till age 1. But sheets, dust ruffles and such are fair game.

basically just pick something as a focal point in the room, and go from there. doesn't matter what it is. Some people I know found a cute little lamp and themed the entire nursery around it. The sky's the limit!

I had a theme, then built my nursery around that theme. Abby's was Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter, so I went with pastels and animals pictures/toys. Joel's was baby looney tunes, again in pastels. I think if I were expecting a new family member, I would be more likely now to look for more primary colors. It really depends on your personal taste.

Have I mentioned how excited I am that you're thinking of these things?? :sohappy::sohappy:

Thanks for the insight! I guess the baby bumper won't be an issue, since the youngest our child will be when we have him/her home is 10-12 months.

:D I can't tell you what it means to me that you're excited about it.

I think DH is painting the room today. I've had a few rough weeks and I think he was planning on doing this as a "surprise!" for when I get home. The door to the room (which is completely empty) was closed this morning, but I've recently made it a routine to peek in just to imagine what it will be like in 10 months or so. So when I peaked in today, I saw painters tape around the base boards. We had tentatively picked out a gender-neutral color (Water Sprout), so I bet he's going ahead with that. :) he's been so awesome these past few weeks especially. I'm very blessed.

Plus... if we have two kiddos, hopefully it will be a good color that could match both a boy and a girl...? I wonder how hard it would be "coordinate" two in one room.

We're hoping to borrow at least one crib, if we do have siblings. That would help a bunch financially. But we're waiting to see if any of our friends have one we could use. Of course, we have some time.

((Hugs)) for you Christa

So my parents have to go to court on Tuesday :(, and a lot of the family is hoping to go along for support. This...person :fork:....is to be indicted then. I believe the charges right now are aggravated burglary, assault, and receiving stolen property. I'm nervous about being there, but I want to be there for mom and dad.

It'll all be fine Jen. Easy to be nervous for sure, but trust me, all will be just fine. :) (As someone who's been to court... Stupid car accident.)

As long as I maintain my self-control, that is. :lookaroun No, I'll be good, I promise...my kids need their law-abiding mother.
