An Incredible Tribute to The American Adventure

If you're like me, you love the American Adventure and think it's one of the best shows at WDW.

This video takes you through all the history of the American adventure from the build, design, changes, full show, and even comparisons to previous shows.

I've never seen the behind the scenes look at the ride system for displaying the many show scenes. It's really an incredible display of creativity and engineering.

It's totally worth the hour to watch it, especially the first part.

@marni1971 work is as always top notch.

@Chef Mickey , you should take the Backstage Magic tour, it's expensive, and an all day affair. I've taken it twice in 10 years and though it has differed each time, both tours included time backstage at the American Adventure where you get up close to all the working mechanisms while it's operating.

I know that is one of the items in Backstage Magic tour, but I always debate if I want to see all the magic. I think I do, but interestingly, I asked a CM at American Adventure about it and he said they stopped showing how the show worked.

Not sure if that's true. That was about 2 weeks ago.

Thank you :)
Seriously, thank you!

Your work is absolutely outstanding, almost like it's your job to produce these videos. You have real talent for compiling interesting information and editing them into an enjoyable video even those most discerning WDW fan can enjoy.

I assume all of your work is original. I didn't realize you were a member here, but your content is just superb. You also add a lot to our discussion points here and I'm glad we have you contributing.

Again, thanks for your videos. I'm not sure what kind of work you do, but you should pursue something in this field. Not sure how realistic that is for you, but it's that good. I enjoyed your Splash Mountain tribute and several other videos.

No, thank you! It's just my little hobby / obsession and I'm happy that others find interest in it. I've also made so many fantastic friends through my edits, and met their friends and so on. Both in, out and in between the various companies that we talk about on these forums.

I actually work in television production as my day job so this isn't a million miles away from what I do for a living.

Now that I've found your site, I think I'll have a nice lineup of videos to watch. I'm literally interested in almost every WDW you have.

Huh, maybe they have, but I took the tour for a second time just last December and we were taken right in the back door to see all the set pieces play their little rise and fall, shift and slide and all that in the big trough with the ancient computer system sitting there. Not sure how much of that still has any part of the show's operation and I'm sure, at least I hope it's not, the original control system.

I was surprised too. He was wearing a 15 year pin too, so I put more stock in what those CM's say than the newbies. I just hope he was wrong.

Don't do it! Martin's site will eat you alive and consume 100% of your time! It's a rabbit hole of Disney awesomeness! Don't blame me when you realized you just watched 12 straight hours of his videos :D

Also, D23 agrees :)

It probably is true. I took the tour years ago, I'm thinking maybe 2008 or so, don't really remember. I took the tour specifically to see how that show worked up-close and personal. As luck would have it just the week before some highly intelligent Guest decided that watching it from the side was not good enough and jumped the barrier into the actual scene area to get a better look. So they stopped letting tour people watch it do it's morning test run. We were down in the basement, standing along side the scenes but they were stationary and didn't do the test until after we left. I was very disappointed and would have hunted that dude down and found a way to throw him into the moving mechanism if I could have. But, alas, they wouldn't give out his name.

Love this show and feel it's one of the best shows in all of Disney World. It really makes you feel proud to be an American, faults and all. I think everyone should watch this show who calls themselves a true patiot, or heck even American.
