American Teacher Awards

What ever happened to the American Teacher Awards? I always enjoyed watching them but I don't recall seeing any since around 2006 or so. The teaching profession deserves so much more recognition than what they get. It was always heart warming to see how these great teachers teach. I miss watching the show.

Ironically, the worst teacher I ever had was someone that had received those awards a couple of times. Surprised me when I found out since she felt that she didn't need to really teach people that weren't already getting an 'A' in her class.
