am i the only one not excited about this attraction. yeah it may be an ok attraction but americal idol is not going to last much longer atleast IMO. Come on it has been on for 7 seasons. yeah they still get alot of viewers but still. it should have been done 2 years ago. dont get me wrong i hope it is great but i have my doubts. ^^^^see post above

They just revealed a few days ago on Larry King that this is the final season. I have a feeling far more people are disinterested in this than excited.

Really? Wow, I guess once the credibility of it actually being a talent competition went out the window when you had "singers" like Sanjaya, that Bo man, that Constantine dude, who in no way shape or form had any vocal talent and yet was able to move on that far, the show has become stale and boring. I mean, with that rate of talentless folk, they might as well have had Hannah Montanah, and the High School Musical kids be apart of the show, theyd fit the talentless role perfectly.

You sound bitter.

PS- just between you and me, networks don't cancel the top rated show in the country. ImagineerMMC is lying or was lied to. :xmas:

Oh ok, I was wondering. lol. And no Im not bitter, I have no reason to be. Its just sad how talentless people get praise as if they were worthy to be praised. When there are many out there who are actually talented and probably have more talent in their pinky than Hannah or HSM kids have in all, but they may never get the chance to be recognized for real talent. Ok, maybe bitter a bit, lol.:lookaroun:cool:

I'm hoping AI attraction is awesome, but I just can't seem to visualize how they will run the show. In my opinion though, it does seem they are a little late on developing this attraction, just like they were with Who wants to be a millionaire play it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. No need to call me out, I was just passing along what I saw on Headline News. After a little research, I found the transcript.

KING: Okay, guys. The world waits with bated breath. Simon, is this the last year of "American Idol?"

COWELL: Do I tell them?

JACKSON: You're live all over the world.

COWELL: Yes, we've decided that we're going to call it quits after this.

SEACREST: I'm going to show up.

COWELL: Kidding.

JACKSON: I'm going to show up.

KING: Was he kidding or not?

Were you kidding or not kidding?

COWELL: I'm kidding. We're doing at least another two more.

All I saw of the clip was the beginning.

This is the most intriguing thing for me as well.

To date, AI = success. I think the same will happen at DHS.

I predict it will be more successful than TSM and TOT. Expect 90 minute waits throughout the day for your chance to hear other park guests "sing" for other guests who are qualified to serve as "judges". I think people will travel from all across the country to experience Disney's American Idol. They may even give away their firstborns for the chance to experience this groundbreaking concept in Disney entertainment. Years from now people will wonder, "What was it like to live in a world without Disney's American Idol?"

What I'm trying to say is, at the very least AI should be more popular than the Hat, maybe. It's almost certainly going to be more popular than the Wand ever was.

Here's another thing.

Here's how it was supposed to work:

Each show would have a winner, and that winner would get a chance to come back to the last show of the day and compete against the winners from all of the other shows. The winner in the last show of the day would win a ticket to go to any American Idol audition for an upcoming season and skip the line to audition for Randy, Paula, and Simon.

Now with the show in it's last season, how will they offer this?

Anyway if they do cancel the show remember what the dedication was:

The World you have entered was created by The Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to Hollywood—not a place on a map, but a state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine, a place where illusion and reality are fused by technological magic. We welcome you to a Hollywood that never was—and always will be.

Doesn't American Idol fit into this, a show that everyone loved but was not able to experience a show that grew beyond regular hype?

That's subject to debate.

I have a friend who is on the construction team for AI. He is not allowed to talk about it but he said its coming along very quickly.

I didn't read this anywhere. What a read was that they would be fast tracked to see the judges, that could mean the producers. After all the way Idol is set up most of the people that just turn up see the producers and they send a few of the really bad ones to see the TV judges. The rest of the people that you see on TV have been invited by researchers. In each venue Simon & co only see a couple of hundred people the rest were seen by producers. With that in mind Disney would be sending 365 people to the first round I don't see Simon & Co seeing all of these if any of them.

I really don't understand this trend of jumping on the bandwagon of a sinking ship.

For example: Disney's foray into the "Millionaire" franchise as the show was waning in popularity.

Disney should have gotten into the American Idol franchise six years ago, not now.
