American Idol exterior looking very close to finished

I give it 5 years. If memory serves correct Simon Cowell said he would continue to judge on the shows until 2010, then he will work behind the scenes instead. Thats where i see Idol's decline (As well as the X Factor here in the UK), and then the eventual decline of this attraction.

Looks like a cheap version of the concept art. I'm excited for it, but it looks like Disney took the cheap route with the exterior. Just saying. :hurl:

LOL yeah. It's got a huge sound system hooked up to it aswell.

I hope it's not too huge. I remember sitting near there in early October during EMH's with the film soundtracks playing. Very relaxing.

Loud American Idol type music will ruin that area. :brick: Isn't it off to the left of the 'hat' while looking towards GMR?

Hope I don't sound like a fuddy-duddy. I'm relatively young.

I'm still confused by the "dance party" type music that was playing along Hollywood Blvd when we were leaving the Studios one evening back in September. I don't recall if it was an EMH night or not, but I know we'd left ToT while Fantasmic was going on. Sunset had its usual background music playing, which made it all the more jarring when we approached the intersection with Hollywood and it was modern "Radio Disney" kind of music.

Just like "Who mants to be a millionaire" they are a day late.
This is going to be short lived, and light attendance after it first opens.

This attraction looks very "reactionary" to me. I think of Disney as being far more forward-thinking, but this is the absolute opposite. I don't think this will last long. I don't have much excitement for it and I'm a fan of American Idol. I just see this as an expensive "space filler" until something better can replace it.

Good luck American Idol Experience, you're gonna need it!!!!

He was being taken backstage by his handlers next to the Narnia "attraction". Very nice guy, he stopped to shake some hands and have some pictures taken.

In other news, I hear that the rehearsals for AI start this week with a projected soft opening for March. (That's a long rehearsal period either way you look at it.)
