Although it would be nice to get X-factor eventually, I still think that would be even harder for them to produce than AIE has been. AIE only needs solo singers. X-factor uses 4 groups: men over 25, women over 25, solo singers and Groups. I guess the first 3 may be doable, but i have a lot of doubt that they will be able to find good groups to compete daily in a show like this. I guess they could change the format up a bit, but then it just isn't the same as the show.

I suppose if they did it would be more flexible, like they wouldn't have to have any groups in the show.

I'm actually quite looking forward to checking out AIE on my next trip, how long do the shows last?

Yeah I would doubt that you would find enough groups as well but you never know. Who knows people could be in Orlando for a competition and decide to try out for it.

I've been surprised so far that AIE has gotten NO mentions in the first three episodes...I mean NOTHING that I've seen!!! Then again, they maybe saving it for the local audition episodes when they get an AIE winner thru to the "big room". Its just surprising that there's been no mention of it by anyone, whether on the show or that we've seen no WDW commericals with it either.

Well, I'm not surprised. Now I haven't seen any of the finale shows, but of the four times I've seen this show, none of the winners would make it past the preliminary auditions if they'd auditioned for AI on their own. Just because they win the prize at Disney World doesn't make them good.

But still you would have thought Disney would have worked in some obligation on AI's part to make a big deal of it.

they did show some of disney while they were in Orlando this past week. Not AIE, but they were clearly pushing disney a bit.

Noticed that too, tho it was only for a few seconds. I think what he was trying to say, was that they haven't mentioned it at all. I too am surprised nothing has been said. You'd at least think they'd mention the AIE, how it works and what not, kinda hype it up. I think it would be great exposure for AIE

All I saw was a girl in the crowd holding a sign saying Disney Dreampass Winner. I must admit I was surprised it wasn't mentioned at all.

They did mention it last season, on the finale episode. They did a big plug for it then if I remember right. I noticed WDW was the only Orlando theme park shown. I didnt see any pictures of Universal or Sea World.

Maybe then General Larry Platt would have a chance.

It wouldn't surprise me if they either downplayed it or didn't mention it at all if one of the park winners made it through. I'd bet there's some kind of deal in place that while the park winners get the fast pass or whatever it is that its called, AI has no obligation to further promote WDW or those contestants. Or to even show them on tv auditioning.

They probably figure it dilutes the 'talent pool' to promote a theme park attraction that gives the winners some kind of advantage. Then it would most likely get into the 'haves and havenots' argument. Those who can afford WDW and a trip there as opposed to those who can't, especially in this economy.

Which would of course leads to viewers not wanting to tune in figuring that the contest is more rigged than it already is, which results in drops in ratings and revenue. And its all about revenue.

Then again this is just my opinon. Maybe none of the park winners were that good in front of the judges or that interesting to warrant being shown. Either way, I've had my doubts as to the legitimacy of the attraction's prize since the announcement.

All the golden ticket does is get you a spot in front of the judges. Instead of having to wait in line with everyone else to audition for the producers first and then hoping to make it to the judges, you get to go straight to the judges. Then, its strictly up to Randy, Kara and Simon on who makes it to Hollywood.

Actually that's not correct all the dream pass gets you is to the front of the line at the first stage (at the large arenas) to see the producers it does not guarantee you to see the judges or even be shown on tv it simply saves you from waiting overnight at the arena & having to stay there all day

I checked out a few of Aaron Kelley's videos on YouTube and wow for 16 this kid is good. I can see how he won the Dream Pass at DHS and made it to the Top 24.

Looking at the Top 24 list it looks like a good number are from Orlando but that is just a quick glance nothing concrete but it also seemed like Orlando had a lot more (percentage wise) make it to Hollywood. Also I was surprised of no mention of the AIE attraction during the Orlando episode.

Yeah it doesn't give much of an advantage to a singer but acts just like a Fastpass at the attractions.
