There has been a rumor circulating on these boards that Aaron Kelly who made it into the Top 24 is a winner of the Dream Ticket from the American Idol Experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Can anyone confirm this and whether or not any of the other Top 24 were Dream Ticket winners?

EDIT: Nvm, last night they annouced that he made it! :D But I'm unsure if he was the Dream Ticket winner...

My good friend Kelsey got a dream ticket to audition for any time in the next few years when she went in January. Her voice is flawless, so I hope she continues to Hollywood, whenever she decides to try out!

Would LOVE to find out if Aaron in fact did come from Disneys' AI - keep us updated if you hear anything else!

It's pretty certain that Aaron Kelly was an AIE Dream Ticket winner. On his web site, he reposted a York Dispatch blog entry from February 19, 2009 where one of the paper's assistant editors saw him at AIE. And on his site's guest book, somebody named Jason Cork posted this:

Hey Aaron! Glad to see you made it to Hollywood! If you remember, I was your casting director at The American Idol Experience. We were all at the Orlando Auditions, and I saw that you made it to the 2nd round, but I was so happy to see that you made it to Hollywood. Looking forward to seeing more of you on TV! All the best.

Miley Cyrus mentored the Top 11 idols tonight on AI - Including the kid who made it from AIE. Now I am a little suspicious of this. I am wondering if this is a contract thing that Disney had with American Idol. They get a guest mentor (being Miley Cyrus) and tomorrow on the results show, she is singing her new single and Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato are also singing "Make a Wave". Now I'm not sure if this is b/c someone from AIE made it to AI's top 12, if it is just a contract thing, or if it is just COMPLETELY unrelated to the whole AIE thing. To me it just seems a bit suspicious that Miley would mentor, then not only her sing, but Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato. It would seem if this does have anything to do with a contract, tomorrow is possibly when we may see something about the AIE on the show.

This is purely speculation, but it seems resonable to think this could be the situation, no?

It's always possible. This week's theme was supposed to be Teen Idols, and I thought that was why Miley, Demi & Joe were all part of it. But then the theme got switched to Billboard #1 hits. I figured that the 3 of them had already been scheduled, so they went ahead as planned, but with a different theme. I don't know why the theme was switched - it's just what was said on the AI boards.

I too had been wondering if anyone from AIE made it to the top 24! Glad to see that one person did. I thought a few of the people from the 2 shows I saw were amazing!

Why do you think there has been no mention of the AIE on American Idol, seems very strange.

FremantleMedia put a stop to it. FremantleMedia owns American Idol. Not sure exactly why they were against it. and yes Aaron Kelly won AIE.

Probably on the lines where FOX doesn't want to promote the Disney-ABC brand for free.

AI has no reason to advertise AIE. American Idol doesn't actually own AIE nor, I assume, does it have any real vested interest in its success (other than licensing fees, which are probably fixed). It's a theme park attraction. Think of AIE more like an unofficial commercial. You don't promote a commercial...you promote the main event.

Its a little more than a commercial imo. Its sort of like a year round audition center for them. They may not care greatly about it, but throwing in one little in show commercial for it cant hurt. It would certainly get it more more "out there" as far as being known and who knows. Maybe it would even get a little better talent in there as well

I was assuming when they did the auditions in Orlando at the Rosen (near Sea World, BTW) that they would mention or talk about the AIE or show a golden ticket winner. Now Freemantle can do what it wants, but promoting your brand is always a good idea.

It is not only great advertising for FOX and AI, but it can help keep interest in the show and allow more people to participate. You would think that a show that is declining in popularity would use everything it has to boost interest. I've always wondered why they don't at least mention AIE on the show.

I havent watched AI in a minute because clearly they seem to only be picking who's marketable as opposed to who is the best singer, but arent the people who usually go on AI to "mentor" the contestants are well established artist with talent? If so, then why is Miley there?
