Do you think that they should add a new scene in the American Adventure about September 11? I am not really sure what I think. Maybe during the Golden Wings part, but I'm not sure.

I think it's a bit too soon to be doing that...I mean, if you are in the family of someone who died or were friends with someone who died, would you really want to be reminded of your loss when you were trying to have a least a little bit of fun at Disney World?

They should definate do it but I don't think there's anything on Pearl Harbor in it (forgot if there is or not) but they should add it.

I think they should just update the entire thing.

the movie/show is 25 minutes long..if they added Pearl Harbor, Sept 11th and other wars along with updated pictures then it would be like 40 minutes long

I think it should be placed next year or later... but in Golden Dream....not a scene. In fact, no new "scenes" should be really added until lots and lots of more "American adventures" go on... Everything through WW II are in the show, everything after is in Golden Dream. I find this somewhat nice, and also - there'd be no room for many more scenes.

Yes, I definitely think they should. However, I do not know if they will. I do agree though that the American Adventure is getting a bit outdated. There are many events they need to add! So I am thinking that within the next year it will be closed so they can work on refurbishing it. The way that Disney works, I don't think they would let it get much more outdated. It sure will be neat if they get it done!!!!

How does history become outdated?

Don't they mention Pearl Harbor in the radio broadcast right before Rosie the Riviter?

Everything after WWII is inspiring and uplifting. Celebrating America's accomplisments. I don't think "Golden Wings" is an appropriate place for an image of the towers. Maybe they just need to ad an image of firefighters or something.

We need the benefit of 'time and outcome' before we'll know exactly where in history 9/11 will be placed.

...it seems the American Adventure mostly includes events that had a profound effect on the basic character and direction of the country.....9/11 certainly appears to fit the bill for this but it's arguable if the Korean and Vietnam 'conflicts' do or not.

The American Adventure is far from outdated. Since when does history become outdated? As far as what events are included, they try to include only the major events that have affected our nation. It would be impossible to include everything. I don't think 9/11 will be added to the show anytime soon. The show was also updated a few years ago with new animatronics and an updated Golden Dreams sequence. So I would say it's far from outdated. Oh and by the way they do mention Pear Harbor.

Yes....December 7th, 1941, over the radio, you briefly hear FDR giving his famous "Day of Infamy" speech before a joint session of Congress in which he asks for a declaration of war against the Empire of Japan.

Of course at some time in the future, the imagineers will update the American Adventure. A scene or two might be tweeked or changed along with new film footage for the Golden Dream sequence, but don't be surprised if a third host were to show up joining Ben Franklin and Mark Twain. Back when the AA was being developed, there was talk of having a third host to represent the 20th century. (Ben for the 18th and Mark for the 19th) Will Rogers was one of many almost selected, but seeing as the 20th century was still 18+ years from ending, it was unclear as to which one American could represent this century best. So the imagineers decided to wait until we were distanced from the 20th century to make a good decision as to who should represent it. If the choice had to be made right now, I'd choose old Walt himself. Why not represent the 20th century with someone who brought great joy not only to America, but to the whole world? JUST HAD A BRAINSTORM!!! I'm going to start a new thread with a poll on who should represent the 20th century as a third host in the American Adventure.

That's what I forgot to add that maybe five to ten years down the road it should be added in. Its something that should be put in but not now.
