America Sings

Funny story: in America Sings, there were two vultures with tuxedos and top hats. They lost the clothes when they ended up in Splash Mountain in Disneyland, but in the Magic Kingdom version of Splash Mountain, the vultures have top hats and tuxedos just like the vultures from America Sings. Why?

Well, here's my theory: the vultures in America Sings appeared in the attraction's "Heading West" sequence, and the point of the clothes was to make them look like western morticians. The Magic Kingdom Splash Mountain has a few things to make it fit more into Frontierland (the music, for example), so I'm guessing giving the vultures top hats and tuxedos was part of that. Either that or the Imagineers just thought they looked cooler with the hats (the vultures have the hats in every piece of merchandise, Disneyland or Magic Kingdom, that features them as well. Make of that what you will...)
