Am I Crazy?

OK so most of you know I am but I have no desire to go to Universal. This year's trip includes 10 park days and an off day for DTD and the outlets. I don't think I am missing anything am I wrong? Great Adventure, Dorney Park and Hershey are 1 or 2 short day trips for me to get a roller coaster fix if needed! Keep me in my Disney bubble or should I check myself in somewhere?

One Little Spark...
I did 3 days at Universal this past trip, and I have to say I enjoyed it.

I walked into it a bit of a Disney snob, expecting it to be all roller coasters and a third rate experience, but after 3 days I wish I had done 5. Is it WDW? No. But it is well done, and there is plenty to do and see besides thrill rides.

I would recommend it.

I could easily do a week at US and Sea World. Oh, I did just do that last Summer. Yes, you can spend a good 2-3 days at US/IoA. It is as good as Disney but you have to stay onsite there (IMHO).

When Universal was a one day adventure that was fine! Now it is a two or three day adventure and that is tar too long for me. Every year I say we will go see Harry Potter but I am not wasting precious Disney time!

Universal Orlando Resort is nothing like Six Flags Parks, Cedar Fair Parks, or Hershey Park. The fact that you believe that they are suitable substitutes of what UOR has to offer tells me that you should probably at least spend one day seeing what they have to offer. Let me know when you are going to be down and my 2 daughters and I would LOVE to give you a guided tour. Tell me what your favorite things to do at WDW are, and I promise you will have a wonderful day.

Go you'll enjoy yourself.
If you stay onsite for a night, or pay for the Express Pass, you can hit everything in a day.
Why be so dramatic about going to Universal? I'm not bashing you personally, it's just a common thing I see on these boards. As someone said previously, if you think Six Flags or Dorney or Hershey is the same as Universal, you are mistaken.
If it helps, think of a Universal as mix of Six Flags coasters, with many Disney quality attractions as well.

I love Universal and would love to go back.Last time there was 2009. With that being said now, on our last two trips to WDW my wife and I set a day aside with nothing planned so we could take a trip to Uni. But both times when the day came we just ended up staying at Disney. We were both having too good of a time and just didn't want to leave the property. So I definitely understand just wanting to stay in that Disney bubble. But if you never have been to Uni, I would definitely recommend trying to go. There is a lot of great stuff to see and do there that I'm sure you'll enjoy a lot.

I'm with @DisneyDebNJ on this one. I've left the beloved WDW grounds for Universal before and ended up feeling "dirty", like I was cheating on my true love. Yes, I enjoyed the time spent but not enough to actually utter the words and, unless I was traveling with others that really wanted to go, I probably wouldn't "stray" again. Loving that Disney bubble!

That's the feeling dirty last time when we were driving home I said maybe we'll stop there next time we're down here. Felt like I needed to brush, floss gargle and repeat alot!!!!! Also needed a shower!!!!

We need time for things to happen.
We've been going to WDW as a family for 7 years straight --- always for 8 days 7 nights.

We started taking 2 days of those 7 visiting Uni (when they opened WWoHP). We still stay on WDW property and are back for dinner and for a night in one of the WDW parks.

There is a lot to see at Universal and a lot of what they have there (rides, theming etc) is RIGHT on par with WDW.
I'm not going to lie (with our 8 day stint) I do feel like I'm missing out on our WDW vacation but only because I've gotten used to have 8 full days to "do our thing" at the World.

So.....with all that being said - If I had it my way?? We'd take a 10 day vacation and spend 8 at WDW and 2 at Universal.

For what it's worth - I'll give you my opinon: You're not crazy....well at least not for this ;) I get WHY you feel that way....
But I would DEFINITELY suggest taking at least a day and check out Uni and what it has to offer.

I'll bet you won't be disappointed!

Thats true... we really did enjoy Universal and Seaworld, yet my Disney pride just took over! LOL (Now... if I could get DH to extend a few days, JUST might visit Universal!)
I'll bet you won't be disappointed!
