Am I a FP+ monster?

First time poster here. This may not be in the "spirit" of Disney but I was thinking about giving it a shot.

Can I buy a 2nd set of park tickets that I wouldn't use until my next trip, assign them to phantom people on MDE, and book a 2nd set of fast passes on these tickets to use in the park? I'm still giving Disney money, and locking in ticket prices now as we all know they will rise. I would use my original tickets (via Magic Bands) to enter park, and "sneak" the 2nd plastic set in to use for extra FP.

Does anyone know if this will work without using the 2nd set of park tickets to enter the park? Or am I just crazy for thinking this?

I don't think they work unless the ticket has been used for entry. o_O

That's true. One time (before magic bands & MDE) a CM had difficulty checking in Guests at the MK park entrance. We were allowed in and, therefore, assumed everything was set for the day in the park. We went to get a FastPass for Buzz and the machine wouldn't read our cards. The CM working the machine said our tickets were not validated for the park that day. He was able to help us and we ended up having a great day without any other issues.

Gives me hope, as you seem to be guessing.

You're referring to a bygone era. One many of us miss. But I digress. I read a few forums ago that there may be a loophole with the new system.

I'm aware this is mostly a pointless exercise - no one is going to admit/confirm something like this is possible. I'm just going to temper my expectations and see how the experiment goes. Thank you for humoring me - beats being productive at work.

This has been our experience as well. We went with friends and some of the group decided to stay back and relax by the pool and the rest of us hit the park. The FP+'s of those who waited by the pool could not be used because they were not in the park.

Won't work. The FP+ system requires that you have ticket media in your MDE account before you can book FP+. The FP+ are associated with your MDE account. Your Magicbands will only let you use your FP+. The "phantom" guests would have to enter the park using their Magicbands, which won't exist unless you've included them on a resort reservation.

If you did include them on a reservation and received MBs, you'd also have to enter the park using their MBs to use their FP+, which would also expend the extra ticket media. Then if you had more than the allowed number of adults on the reservation, you'd have to pay a surcharge for the extra people. By the time you finished all that, assuming it worked, those three extra FP+ for the day would be very expensive.

We tried a similar "cheat" using one of our older daughter's Magic Bands during our most recent trip. We have APs linked to our MBs, and our daughter had decided to skip the parks for a day and stay at the resort. We thought we'd just bring her band along and test whether or not we could use it for FPs. No dice. As others have said, the band has to be scanned at park entrance (along with fingerprint) in order for FPs to work.

Even if you've purchased tickets, linked them to your account, and made FP+ for them, the tickets are not "validated" until the ticket-holder enters the park [and scans their MagicBand]. You won't be able to use the FP+ for a ticket that hasn't been validated.
In theory, you could enter with one set of tickets, leave the park, then re-enter with the second set of tickets and they'd all be active. The biometric scan verifies that you match your ticket, but it doesn't check against whether you also match some other ticket.

In theory.

Way to go! You found a loop hole!! We still rely on parent-swap as a "loop hole." Otherwise, the only other loop hole we experienced was totally random, and the only reason we figured it out was when our 4 yo son scanned his bracelet for a ride we didn't have FP+ for but it went green anyway! Something weird happened with the FP+ system that day. We were going on 7DMT with FP+s, and then we had been given a "Free" fastpass from the Crystal Palace because Tigger was late. So, we went back to the FP line for 7DMT to use the paper FP but, not knowing any better, my 4 -year-old scanned his bracelet again and it went green. So, then we had my 8 yo daughter scan hers and it turned green for her too!o_O So, we slipped that little paper FP back in our pocket and went on 7DMT again, and then proceeded to go on a bunch of rides until the system caught the glitch. :( Then we used the paper FP to go on BTMR, and called it a day. :D

Fyi this totally worked. 2nd set of tickets that i used for 2nd set of fp+ still "unused"

Haters be hatin'
Im not hatin' I just think it's stupid that you paid the price of a two day ticket just for extra fast passes. And good luck making fastpass+ selections associated with that ticket number in the future. It may work but I have a feeling it will tell you that you are out of entitlements for those tickets.
