Alternative to Lanyard?

Anyone have any good suggestions for an alternative to the pin lanyard? We're leaving a week from tomorrow sohappy and I'd like to bring our pins but I find the lanyard irritating. I've thought about placing the pins on my pack but I'm afraid that they'll fall off.

Any thoughts?

I was thinking more that it would be relatively easy to make one from some felt. I'm quite sure they're not commercially available, unless you bought some plain-looking potholders with loops on them. Something like this:

I've also seen mini-messanger bags that open up to show pins, but I'm not sure if they still sell these in stores or not...I've also seen people carry trader pins in little felt bags, and when they want to trade they just open up the bag to see which pins they'd like to trade with a CM. I usually just carry mine in a ziploc bag when the lanyard gets too heavy/awkward.

I saw a woman in a wheelchair coming off of Splash Mountain with about 6 - 8 lanyards around her neck at the same time. Looked very heavy to me, but I guess if that brings her joy, then hey.

I know this is rather late to help the OP. My boys have the small pin pouches. They have 3 sheets that fold out for pins and one mesh zippered pocket. The boys can wear them around their neck or through their belt loops as a belt.
