There is a God! DCA's abandonment has come to an end! :sohappy: :sohappy:

A 1 Billion dollar budget has been approved to help DCA. The plan is to go one area at a time, so they can keep the park up and running while this is all going on.

I'm excited about Disney "adding back some of the things that were lost over the last ten years." New rides in the Thunder Ranch area sounds promising. I'm happy to hear that they are going to take advantage of the "dormant" unused areas of the park.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough coming back is interesting. I don't remember what it was like. I know I've been in it, just can't remember what was there. I would like to see them use the same stuff found over in Dead Man's Grotto for the walkthrough.

I want to take the behind the scenes tour that the Adventures by Disney is going to be doing. That would be very interesting and a lot of fun!

EDIT: I probably shoud have searched the site before posting this. There's a thread going on about this in News and Rumors. However, that thread is mostly bickering about Al and the people in charge at Disney...

The way Lutz describes it, they might as well just demolish the park and start from scratch.

I still can't see Lutz's info about rennovating DCA coming to light. I loved DCA when I went. But Lutz, among others, feels DCA is a failure and people don't respect it and is in favor of redoing it. But that would mean that Disney is literally admitting a mistake. If Lutz thinks people don't respect the park now, people will surely dislike it even more if they knew Disney had a "failure" on there hands, regardless if they redo it. That's not good business

Pretty much. If they got it right the first time, it certainly would have been cheaper than what they're doing now.

I like DCA as well, there's just so much more that can be done with it. It's hard for me to spend a long time there. Plus, I think they need some more attractions that everyone can enjoy (not really talking about the little ones because they have a whole land dedicated to them). My friend hates ToT, the Sun Wheel, Maliboomer, and Screamin'. That leaves her with Grizzly when it's hot, and Soarin' when the line is short (which is rare). It needs some more rides like Thunder or Space- a thrilling ride that kids and adults love.

Remodeling the park is the biggest thing for TDA. I know a few areas could be fixed, but I'm fine with the way the park looks for the most part. What DCA really needs are some good, quality rides. Carland would be a great addition. Put it in the Timon parking lot and get us an E ticket Test Track ride themed to Cars.

Don't know who this is, but they confirmed Al's budget info. Lee also confirmed it in the other thread.

I'd hardly call one of the world's top 10 theme parks a failure. It's just not their best effort. I applaud and can't wait for the changes. Particularly when you're spending $1K/day to stay at the Grand - the park shouldn't look and be so average.
