Alone at the park?

I have been to all to the parks (MK, EPCOT, DS, AK, DL, and DCL) alone while on business trips. I usually try to stretch the trip around a weekend so I can have extra days. IT is fun in that you can get on rides fairly quickly and can do what you want when you want but I always find myself missing my family before the end of the day. In February I had a class in Anahiem and spent three extra days at DL and DCL. By the end of the third day, I was so ready to have someone I knew to talk to I could have screamed.

It is fun for a short time ( a day or two) but longer than that can get old. I really think Disney Parks are all about family and being together. On the other hand I can ride ToT and RnR as many times as I like!

I will go to WDW alons in Jan and Feb while on business and spend a day and a hslf each trip just doing the thing I like to do.

I guess it's different for those who live close to the parks than it is for everyone else...I know personally that I could spend every day there alone and still be great...but maybe thats because I go HOME after every day..instead of a hotel room...

That's probably a lot of it. Going back to the room and not having anyone to talk about what you did with is a bummer. I also hate waiting until the parks open in the morning. I get up early and sometime have to wait forever for them to open. It is more fun chasing kids around the food court than watching the WDW travel guide channel for the 500th time.

Brazillians...

I will be in WDW for the spring advantage program and I am interested to see the so called "loud" brazillians. Just curious, how can you tell they're brazillian. Couldn't they be from Peru, or Argentina, Chili, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, or Columbia? Their are many similarities between the south american countries. Do they were huge shirts with the Brazillian flag on them?

Just curious, is there a particular time of year that are Brazilian friends tend to come to WDW? I remember being around such a group before and I must admit it was a bit annoying. I suspect the problem is not that they are Brazilian, but that any time you get a huge pack of teenagers together far from their home and family it can be pretty disruptive.:veryconfu

I've gone into Epcot a couple of times alone while on business trips to Orlando. Both times it was in February and the park was very uncrowded. While I enjoyed the food and rode everything I wanted to, the whole time I was missing my family. (I did get to see the millenium parade and pavillion, much to the envy of my family) It felt a little wierd but the opportunity to get in some WDW time is just too good to pass up.

If in Orlando on business, I generally use extra time to do WDW things that would not be all that interesting for a family (behind the scenes tour, ESPN zone, checking out resorts, Wide World of Sports, etc) Also do a little scouting for the next family trip. (I.E. went to Coronado, Boardwalk, all Star, etc, and picked out the exact room I wanted for the next trip.)

We love the kids from Brazil...They are always happy and loud...If you can't have fun as a teen.... then when will you have fun...They sing and clap hands everywhere....I don not understand the language but I sure do like their spirit and love of life that they have....I do not think that a person from Brazil can be alone at Disney...:)

I like touring the parks alone sometimes... noone to tell you where to go or what to do or how long to stop at a store...etc. However, it made me sad many times not having my family to share the special things going on in the parks with them. I remember that the first time I saw the Xmas decorations, I called my parents almost crying and asked them to come visit me then so they could see it. They loved it and we all agree that it has been the time when we saw the parks more beautiful than ever! They also loved Candlelight Processional...
