My parents booked a trip for Nov 2014 and got info in the mail about the magic bands and how it would be then new standard by then (Nov 2014)

...I guess this thing is for real now

I wonder if those of us who make DVC reservations will get any Info? I booked an October, 2014 trip a month ago and have heard nothing. Maybe it will come closer to the 6 month mark when you can start to reserve things.

My parents are DVC members and booked a Nov 2014 trip at Old Key West on Dec 11 2013, and got their magic band confirmation in the mail about 2 weeks later, but the info said they would need to wait until around the 6 month mark before they could book the magic band stuff

We just made a July 2014 DVC reservation and received the first packet about MM+ less than two weeks later. Some of my friends have received the USB drive, but ours was just a booklet. Not sure how it's determined which you get, as their trip is right after ours.

If you have an AP, can you still use the legacy FP machines at this point?

Technically,if you have a working Key to the World card, you can double dip however Legacy Fastpass is gone at Animal Kingdom and it is rumored that the other parks will soon follow in the coming weeks. In other words, if you are still double dipping, you are hurting yourself. Might as well get used to only getting your three Fastpass+ picks.

yes except for pop and all-star which have been magic band only. double dipping was discouraged by cast members

I did not find CMs to discourage double dipping when I was there in early December. I never once had anyone comment to me about pulling paper FP despite having a MB on. (Admittedly, I didn't pull all that many during my trip because it wasn't that busy and I didn't need to.) I think it was rare CMs who would discourage it.

Yeah at the attractions they won't say anything to you. It's mainly when someone asked a fp+ kiosk cm about it. soon they'll be one system so double dipping with legacy and fp+ won't happen anymore

Our family of four did a one day / one night stop Monday Dec. 30th. Stayed at POFQ and had the bands with our 3 FP+ (TT, Soarin' and MS). Arrived around 10:30 and promptly went to TT to get (double dip) another FP. The guy in front of me put his KTTW card in and got one of those "invalid" tickets. He called the cast member over and the first thing the CM asked was if he had a magic band. Upon the guy telling him no (I didn't see a band on him), the CM "hit the back button" and gave him his FP's. So I do think some CM's are trying to crack down on the double dippers. Side note, I had no problems getting our FP's. That was the only attraction we got an additional FP for.

As of today - yes. As long as you have a valid AP you can still use the paper machines. However, as others have said the timeline is getting accelerated and I fully expect that within the next month HS or Epcot will be next to take away the paper machines.

Thanks. We're leaving next week so this is most likely our last trip using paper FP. Is it still a test at AK or are legacy FP machines officially done?

I'm very interested to see how FP+ works for us. I like the idea of having some of those tough-to-get FP's ahead of time, but the tiering takes away the opportunity to choose your top three. We also like to split each day between two parks so I will feel a little helpless at the park with no FP+ reservations. Hoping for the best!

My son and I were told twice over the past two weeks that we were not eligible to use legacy FP since we had bands and were eligible for FP+, after that weremoveda band but only our APs would grant us a FP, the KTTW card would return an ineligible pass while my daughters with a ten-day PH would get a time.

Were you staying at Pop or All Star? I think those were the resorts that started testing band only.
