All Stars vs Pop

Where would you stay? We are trying to figure out if there are any advatages or disadvatages to one over the other? Mostly what we can think of might be bus routes? Anyone have comments or experinces please post. Thanks!:wave:

All the values (aside from theming) are exactly the same thing. Same room size, same ammenities, etc. The only difference is that Pop Century has its own bus, while Music, Movies, and Sports all share a bus.

I would stay at Pop Century. Even though the ammenities are the same, Pop is newer and nicer. There is a lake to walk around and overall you can just tell it is a new resort. It also has its own dedicated bus. It is a little cheaper too, the All Stars are in a county that charges 13% sales tax instead of the 11.5% that is at the other Disney Resorts.

:wave: POP. Its a really nice resort. the food court is awesome. Lots to look at. can see some of the fireworks from the 50s bldgs. They have their own bus. they dont share with anyone else.:animwink: That right there should do it. I think Pops rooms seem a lot bigger but maybe they arent. Anyway, stay at Pop Century. You wont be sorry. have a magical vacation at the world.:wave:

Pop Century. Pretty nice for the price and as said before, their own bus system.

Pop is ugly :lookaroun their I said it but as said they do have their own buses that only go to the one hotel still I would go to the all stars because when it comes down to the buses you are most likely going to be standing anyway not that in the high seasons most of the buses are not standing room only anyway but I just like the all stars better just because it feels to me more like disney. but I think disney really needs to clean them up a bit they are getting dirty but i'm judging from the last time i went like 3 years now at the music (I have stayed at all the alstars though) so I don't know if anything changed when it come to that if I was staying at a value I would go with pop I guess but I keep flip floping so just don't go by me till I made a final

my final word is to go with pop just for the buses and it being cleaner yup that was harder then I thought it would be lol :brick:

All stars now have new Family Suites I hear they are really nice.
I have a family of six so this is great for us.:wave:

for me its all star sports i love it there. as for pop century i will never go back there i hated everything about it except for 2 ace CM who helped me.

if it was down to staying at PC or having the all star bus routes i would choose all stars everytime. cant wiat to go back next xmas and new years 2007/2008!!

everything at sports was awesome the CM's, the atmosphere, the whole place was the best!!! i loved the way everything worked and everyone was very friendly where as at PC i didnt feel anything like that.

sports is set out better and better themed -for a value resort sports has everything you need.

If you check out this link http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm you will see that POP doe's not offer the same food as the All-stars. Pop has things like soy burgers, cheesesteak wraps. That right there is a reason I don't stay there. It was also said they have there own buses, but you have to keep in mind, they don't have nearly as many busses as All-stars, so you end up waiting longer for your bus. I always stay at All-star Sports it's a great resort

Go with Pop Century....it's time for Disney to refurbish the All-Stars (if they haven't already)

We are in the process of refurbishment. The Jazz section of music should be going down sometime this month, if it hasn't already. The rooms are getting new furniture, carpets and lighting. As well as they are building more suites

We're staying away from the All Star Sports for the first time since it's been open. The place has become more and more run down (At least for Disney standards) ever since they started sending all of the large groups there (A good thing). So we are going to Pop Century this trip as a change of scenery and to hopefully add some excitement because we've never even been over there.

sports does have soya burgers -i asked the chef and he was happy to cook me a soya burger and he cleaned all the utensils and cooking grill. when i was in the queue at sports all the chefs always knew what i wanted without me telling them what i wanted. they where really helpful.
at PC the food was horrible and expensive and had a variety of meat,meat and more meat -i got a soya burger like 2/3 times. i ate at other resorts and in the parks coz it was cheaper and they had nicer food that i would eat. the cake pieces in the fridges at PC had black spots on them every night and the shelves where always empty and where not restocked. an example of how much food there is a bowl of grapes at PC costs $3.99 when a bowl of grapes with more in them at MK costs $1.49. i bought oranges and bowls of grapes at MK before i went back to my resort.

all stars sports is my fave resort!!!!!!!!

stay where you want to stay. dont ask people for what they would choose. they would tell you their favorite while you might not like it yourself. i honestly like both pc and all stars the same. a few things about pc that i think are better is the food court. they have a lot more to choose fro then just meat opposed to what someone else had said before. i had lots o fsalads. no meat. but anyway if you like sports stay at all star sports, music then stay at music, movies, then stay at movies, and if your into that pop culture stuff then stay at pc. who cares about buses because in my opinion the buses take forever no matter where you stay at, and i have stayed at alot of disney hotels besides the value resorts. pick what you would like. dont pick what others would like.

THere are advantages to staying at Pop Century. They have their own bus. With allstar resorts, you are sharing with the other two depending on which one you choose. for this alone I would choose Pop. Other perks inlcude larger resaurant and Lobby, better store, less crowded/cluttered. The rooms are closer to the lobby at POP and the overall surroundings are better at POP. POP is also closer to places like Down TOwn DIsney, Epcot and MGM. Deffinetely a plus. another thing is they are the same price but Pop just seemed a bit nicer, better quality. and didn't look so plastic like the all stars do. THe pools are better at all star movies as far as the all star resorts go. But they are just ypicall pools anyway. nothing special between any of the three. POP IS FUN!!!

all stars is just ace!!!

here is what i like about them (sp,mu,mo):
everything is better IMO than PC.
rooms are bigger and cleaner, tv moves around so it can face the table or either bed
theming is done just right not done OTT like PC!
everything is just in the right place i.e not far apart from other things -rooms are close to either the food court, surf shaped pool or baseball shaped pool.
food court has food that will appeal to everyone and if they dont have what you want just ask and they will do there best to get it for you.
food is very affordable and not over priced and always new food is put out.
resort shop is separate from food court which is better in so many ways.
i would pick the all star buses over PC buses anyday!! even when they would go to the other all star resorts that didnt bother me, at PC then buses would take ages to come and dont take any notice to that 20-30 mins rule at the resort the buses at PC took well longer than that.
tables are always cleaned in food court.
always lifeguards during said times at the pools.

what did i like about PC?
having my own room.

its entirely up to you about where you want to stay as the saying goes "each to their own".

have a good trip no matter where you decide to stay.

I thought I'd answer your question with a few facts (and opinions thrown in)


Here's what I've found amoung the Values...


Pop Century - Amazing theming - Beautiful Landscapes - Huge resort - Still Smells new! - Odd shaped food court - but lots of yummy things to eat there (the best personal pizza i've had on property) The CM's were top notch - some of the best I've encountered at any resort. The rooms were very clean - TV's a little larger than what I remember at the All Stars (but could be wrong here) the fountain areas for the kids were great - always had a crowd cheering them on - The main pool was always busy - but plenty of chairs to go around - The bus system was great - much closer at Epcot than the All Stars.

All Star Sports - My personal favorite - (only preferred rooms though) - the pool is by far my favorite - and the surf's up building suits any taste (even those not so much into sports) - The food court is standard - but we always bought milk and muffins from the gift shop as they were always alot cheaper for some reason - The rooms are typical for a value - but for some reason, we've always had a fridge in our room here without requesting one... i'm not sure why - but we never complained! My favorite part about the Sports is the bus system... You are always the first to be picked up AND the first to be dropped off - thus you always have a seat on the bus - and the ride home is mercifully quick

All Star Movies - Fun resort - Most relating to children (or those of us that love the classic's) - Got a much needed updating (at least the preferred rooms did) with new bed spreads, carpet, etc. - Nice pools - standard food court and gift shop - I like the bus system here in the summer time b/c you get your own buses that don't stop at the other 2 - but during slow seasons - you share with all 3 resorts - and are the last to be picked up and dropped off...

All Star Music - My least favorite (however, I'm staying there in 2 1/2 weeks) Great Pool - but kind of bland themeing... (imho) - Standard food court and gift shop - nothing really stands out here - but that's also the beauty of this resort - of all the values - this is always (or nearly always) the last resort to book up - so the crowds are lower generally - I imagine this might be changing soon though b/c of the new family suites - however on the whole - this resort tends to be slower paced.


Hope this helps explain them - personally I would recommend the Pop Century (for the newness factor) or the All Star Sports (preferred) - but that's just a personal opinion!

I love All-star Sports too, the older Chinese preson, at the burger place, is the man (you know the short Chinese man with glasses)
