All Stars or Pop Century?

Our pick is All Star Movies. We have stayed there 5 times. We tried AOA once but it did not feel like our Disney home, so we are back to All Star Movies. The pools are great. We spend most of our time at the parks & do not eat meals at the resort, except for the pizza. We make one meal pizza from the resort.
We like the bus option from the parks. MK has a dedicated bus. For the others you share with the other All Star resorts. The perk is: if your room is the right section of All Star Movies, then you get off at AllStar Music and get to your room faster. Or if it arrives first at MK take the direct All Star Music bus.

I haven't considered bus ride length. That's a good point. We leanred after the first visit that staying at AS Sports was a must over the other two. You get picked up first and dropped off first. I'd say more than 75% of the time, we haven't had to go by the other AS for pick-up, so it's never been a big issue. Each AS has separate buses leaving the parks during busy times, so that hasn't been an issue, either.

Has anyone ever posted average buf ride times from parks to reosrts. I know the AS are close to AK, but a long way to MK.

We are staying at pop for the first time in May! I wondered if AOA frowned upon guests from Pop using their pools at all? The theming of the pools look a million times more fun that pops pool! Is this going to b possible or will we get in trouble? Lol

The art of animation pools are gated and require room key access to enter them. Therefore they are restricted to Art of Animation guests. Although not as locked down as the Y&B pool, it is IMO the 2nd most restricted.

O well, we will still take a stroll over there to check everything out! I kind of wish Pop looked more like AOA or ASMovies, I think Pop looks very tacky compared to those 2, but with the food court options and bus situation, hopefully that'll make up for it! Plus the price...

I may be in the minority, but I love that Pop screams DISNEY slightly less than ASMovies and AoA. I mean, of course there is Disney stuff, but there's plenty of other non-Disney pop culture references. I've looked into the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA, and they are just TOO Disney for two adults that don't want to pay the huge increase to jump to a mod, IMO.

They definitely do enforce it with gates at the Nemo pool (the biggest of the 3). I'm not sure, but I don't seem to remember there being a band-reader at the Cars pool. Either way, it's still well worth strolling over from Pop to check out the theming. DS is a HUGE Cars fan, and he loved seeing the different Cars characters at AoA. If you request a 70's room, or even better a 70's room with lake view, you'll be a very short walk from there.

Funny u mention that because the 70s wing seems like the best location on the property and I was gonna request that! I don't need a prefered room or pool view and figured it was a good location to be close to the food court and busses, and if we wanted to visit AOA, te bridge is right there!

From all star movies to MK is 15 minutes. That is the only one I remember and that is the longest ride from all star movies.

When Pop was newer, I liked it better for that reason. Now, I like All-Star movies the best and would totally take that if it was cheaper.

At Pop, you can walk over and check out the new AoA, if you haven't seen it (and if you're into checking stuff like that out.) AoA is pretty cute. :)

You can't go to AoA and use that pool, but it really isn't better than the one at PoP or All-Star or anywhere, IMO.

I don't take the bus and can't help there. I have read positive and negative comments about bus service in all the hotels, though. I often wonder if there really is any difference at all or if it's all a matter of luck. But I leave bus questions to the experts!! :)

There is a chart in the Unofficial Guide. If you don't have one, most libraries will. :)

We stayed at Pop several times and then went to All Stars Music and were won over the first day. We really enjoy the food court at all star music. We have rarely had to share a bus on four separate trips. We also like that you can hop a bus to one of the other all stars from the parks and then just a short walk to all star music. If we were to go on a trip without taking our travel trailer we would be staying at all star music

Go POP you'll really enjoy the change. It's also just a short trip across the bridge to check out AOA. It's really worth the walk.

We are POP fans for the following: 1 bus, lake, food court, can walk to AoA who also have a nice food court.
If I have to pick an All Star: Sports for the bus situation again. First on, first off. I felt so bad for the folks getting one by the time we got to Movies....what a pain. We did do Music once and it was ok. However, if there is a big championship or competition going on, avoid Sports at all cost.
