I have booked flights for next year but havent booked a hotel yet. I have stayed at the All Stars twice and think its great but I was wondering if anybody had any useful info about Pop Century. Which would you recommend, and why?

Thanks;

Steve

Depends on when you are going next year:)

If early in the year just a month or so after PC opens I would go for All Stars:D

Why? To give PC time to work out any bugs including Bus transportation.

If going 5-6 months after PC opens go for it:cool: Everything will be "new".:)

I've stayed at All Stars three times and am staying there again in 6 days and in December.:D

I have never stayed at the All Stars -
but my whole family booked the AS Movies for our Christmas trip.
When a great deal came up on the Pop Century for the Holidays, we went through the trouble of switching all our reservations - if for no other reason than it will be brand new!
Something to keep in mind - a shiny new resort!

Umm, Isn't ALL STARS all the resorts together... All Star:Sports, All Star:Movies, All Star: Music....and now All Star: Pop Century? Yeah. So, I am sure you will get the same quality at the new PC, like the other resorts in ALL STAR. I have stayed in each of them (music, sports, and movies) and I found them all to be the same...cute and comfortable for a reasonable price. Go for the new PC! I will try it soon, as well.

Although Pop Century will be similar is basic design as the All-Stars, it's not consider an "All-Star."

When it's all done, Pop Century will have two resorts, "Classic Years" and "Legendary Years" similar to how All-Star has Sports, Music, and Movies.

Plus the Pop Century is a bit far from the All Stars Resorts...Near the I-4/Oceola PKWY exit...Before the WWOS going west...:D

We stayed at Movies, this past week, and are asking the same question for our next trip. Some things to keep in mind for planning: How crowded is PC going to be? (Movies was unbelievably crowded last week, while Music and Sports were dead).
We were originally thinking about going to PC for our next trip but now I'm thinking Music just to avoid the crowded bus lines. Anyway I'm in the same boat as you and still can't make up my mind! :hammer:

What kind of deal did you get?

I had reservations at the PC for Christmas week at $114 per night. When the AP rates came out for the AS at $49 I jumped on them and switched from PC to AS Sports. They were not offering any AP rates for PC:(

OK, excuse the thread drift and the answer may be found elsewhere, but in relation to the parks, where is PC located? We have stayed at the AS's the last three visits and really enjoyed them, but may stay at PC next trip.

If i'm not mistaken, Pop Century is right near the Carribean Beach Resort. My bf and I were riding the bus this July and he said "hey what's those bowling pins over there?" I would stay at Pop Century versus All Stars simply b/c Pop Century is newer. Also, I think its supposed to have a lake, unlike the All Stars. This is my 1st post on here, btw :) -Stephanie

It is near the Disney Sports Complex.

Chris,

The discount you are talking about, is that common? Can you get deals at other resorts? And how can I look into this?

We are going to go in about 1 year, Jan 05 and want to stay at Port Orleans Riverside.

Thanks for any info,
Mike

Check out www.mousesavers.com This is a GREAT resource for finding deals on all things Disney. I look at it at least weekly because you just never know when yo will find something too good to pass up like $49 a night during Christmas week.:xmas: It also helps me determine when to go. If WDW is literally giving rooms away then their attendance expectations might be a little below normal.
