I am planning a trip to WDW in April 2003.I am thinking of staying at one of the All Star Resorts. Is one any better than the other?I know it is nicer at the "moderates" but I would rather pay less for a room, which I am hardly going to be in,a have more $ for other things.Any input would be helpful.

The difference, basically, is what theme attracts you the most, and the order of bus stops (Sports, Music and Movies). So it's basically whether you wanna sleep looking at a football, a saxophone or Buzz Lightyear. :D

I agree...We picked sports and were very happy they were the first pick up and drop off.

The rooms aren't fancy, but clean and comfortable. If you're the type to lanquish in your room... you may want a moderate resort.

If you aren't particularly interested in the themeing, I'm guessing that All-Star Music is less crowded than either Sports or Movies. I've never stayed there, so I can't say for sure, but I think most people prefer the themeing of All-Star Sports and Movies.:)

We've stayed at both Movies and Sports and preferred Movies theming better and resort newer. Check out Pop Century to see if they will be open when you go in April, supposed to be same as All Stars but will be brand new, not as far away from all the action as All Stars so should have shorter bus rides. We are looking to stay at Pop Century when we go next fall. We agree if you aren't in the room but to sleep why pay more $'s for a bed. Good luck

We've stayed at all 3. Movies has the best themeing. Music is definately more quiet than the other two. The food courts seem to be a little better at music and movies. Sports seems to be showing more wear and tear.

We actually prefer Music and we get a preferred room. The 10 extra dollars is definately worth the money to get a room close to the food courts and bus stops.

I like all of the allstars. I like to sit on the piano keys of the Music. There was a cheerleader convention once when i was at the sports and they were always there cheering and making noise. i didnt like that much, unless you had a 16 years old son.

I think the bus pickups rotate.

Actually, the buses do not always stop (or pick up) in the order of Sports, Music, Movies. Perhaps that is true during slow periods. I am sure Tyler can explain it in detail. During my last trip to Music (for a 2 week stay) we usually had a "fresh" bus (i.e. no other passengers) to pick us up in the mornings and often times when we took the return bus it dropped us off first, Movies second and Sports third.

I have young kids and they like Movies. All three are nice, but Music is the least crowded. For me the advantage (Music) is the buses on average are not as packed. Something to remember about sports is frequently when some type of competition is going on at Disney more time than not they are staying at Sports. Nothing like waking up to 25 overly entergetic cheerleaders practicing at 7:00 am.

Right now, I'm staying @ the All-Star Music resort and it is just as crowded, if not more crowded, than the others (Sports & Music). By the way -- this posting is brought to you by my "zipping fast" AOL connection (I miss my cable modem connection -- I'll get it back tomorrow night). ;)

Indeed you are correct. Busses do alternate where they start when going to the All Stars. They do this for a number of reasons, however the primary reason is to be fair to everyone.

In the morning, the All Stars use MOD... Magic On Demand. The busses are dispatched from a parking lot within the ASR, and usually each one will recieve its own bus. (Although, based on demand, and to maximize efficiency, they might go to another one as well.)

As it stands right now... (And this of course is all subject to change), the MK splits the All Stars all day long. Each one has its own bus. Epcot combines them during the day, but during the park exit will split them. DTD, DAK, and Studios will usually combine them, however, they also alternate which one goes first. The "A" bus will go Sports, Music, Movies... the "B" bus will go Movies, Music, Sports.

My advice... Don't pick the theme of the resort based on what stop it is. Pick it based on what you will enjoy the most. An extra 5 minutes on a bus really won't hurt you. I promise. :) (Unless you have to listen to more of my corny jokes... lol)

I ave stayed at music 3 times. It is quiet, and less crowded. Basically I was just there to rest my head. But I am staying at Wilderness Lodge this time.

It's just luck of the draw. Some days, I do a lot of All Star runs... other days, I don't go near there... *shrug* Hit or miss. I'm actually kinda hard to find... just ask FigmentMom... hehe :)
