Staying at All Star Music next month. Not staying in a preferred room. Looking at requesting either Jazz, Broadway, or Rock. Which would be the better section to stay in? Do not want Country since it’s so far away and I don’t like country music.

I stayed in the Jazz section. I really liked it since you were near the guitar pool (my favorite ) I also think its close enough to the main areas of the hotel and lobby. I also liked the decor off the Jazz area. lol

We stayed in Rock, in one of the rooms in the back facing Jazz and really liked the location. I believe my first pick was Jazz, but we were so close to it it made only a couple minutes difference. It was very quiet since we were off the beaten path, I love walking through the Jazz courtyard, and I second that the guitar pool is great. The music being played in Rock was a lot of fun too (a mix of golden oldies and some more recent tunes).

Jazz will be as close to the lobby as you can get without paying for preferred and is a nice place to be. The buildings look out into a nice little courtyard with a fountain that gives a slightly elevated vibe to the resort that the other All Stars don't have. But when we were placed in Broadway, I did not mind the tiny extra walk because there was just something magical about stepping out of the room and onto the streets of Broadway in the early morning! And coming back at night, with the quiet street lit up and the trees framing it, we were so happy to be home.

Music considers Calypso and Jazz buildings to be “preferred”, although not many people seem to know that. IMO, depending on where your room location is in Jazz, I don’t think it should be preferred....I stayed in Jazz preferred and I had the last room by the parking lot. Room was great but I don’t think it should have been an up charge for being close, as it wasn’t.
Just an FYI. I’m going in December and hoping to stay in Broadway, the theming looks really cute.

I would vote for Broadway. We stayed there a few years ago and it is my favorite area in Music. The walk to the building and bus stops is not bad at all.

As others have said, I believe that jazz is preferred. We've stayed in both Rock and Broadway. I liked Broadway a little better.

I stayed at the Broadway area, very close to the Piano pool. Very nice and not too far to get food/drinks

Haha, different strokes for different folks.
I recently added a few days at All-Star Music to the end of our late-Sept early-Oct trip. I actually requested the Country Fair section. I'm not a fan of Country music, but I love the foilage surrounding it, and the location at the far back of the resort is a positive for me.
My only other stay here back in 2002 had us in the Rock section, which we enjoyed.

We stayed in Jazz (Building 2) in a family suite last month. The walk isn't too far from Melody Hall (the two Calypso buildings are the closest) and the main pool is right there. Jazz Building 9 is directly across from Building 2. Both are about a 90 second walk to Melody Hall.

Broadway 8 will get you almost equidistant to Melody Hall and Cinema Hall - when leaving Parks you can choose either the Music OR Movies bus and have the approx the same walk back to your room
Rock Inn 3 will get you almost equidistant to Melody Hall and Stadium Hall - when leaving Parks you can choose either the Music OR Sports bus and have the approx the same walk back to your room

I'd choose Broadway as it will get you to the "Movies side" of the Music Resort. Parking is better on that side and it is much more quiet.
