I like pop century b/c its new but my sister wants to stay at music and she usually gets her way so well prollly go there but i stil want to put up a fight so witch one should should my family stay at.

Well, I vote for pop century...only because we had this same horrible debate in my own family and we ended up picking Pop Century and I am still worried about our final decision! :) Have you stayed at either resort before? If you've stayed at Music and never Pop then give it a try and let us all know what you think of it!

Oh great TLB, we arrive at WDW in 35 days and now I am completely starting to freak! I have our whole grand gatherings at PC for 10 days. got the ap rate and paid about $55 a night. Well, after looking over the Passporter guide book its saying that it will take a bus ride of roughly 30 mins to get from the resort to the MK park...does this sound right???? I seriously doubt that I can swap my AP rates at PC for AP rates at Movies for 3 rooms for 10 days....did I just make the biggest mistake of my life???? Please tell me that we will be happy at PC. We have been happy at Movies, Music and Sports...happiest at Movies and it was a big debate but we went for something different! oh tell me it will all be fine when we get there......

Mickeyman819: I think that Music will be fine. I stayed there over Thanksgiving, and it was fun. This summer we are trying something new and going to Pop Century, but I can't say which is better as of now.

Dwarful: From looking at maps, it appears that Pop Century is about the same distance from MK as the All Stars, and the bus from AS: Music to MK was long, but it was never boring. The goes by quickly. Also keep in mind that taking resort buses to MK you totally avoid the TTC.

I don't think it's going to take you 30 minutes to get to MK.

You should be happy at Pop. You can try and see if you can get the rate at Movies. It won't hurt to ask if that's where you think you'll be more comfortable.

Like I said, I'd still rather stay at Movies than Pop, mainly because of its Disney-ess. The decades just don't do enough for me yet, but it's very nice.

If you're staying at Music, you might want to consider paying for one of the preferred rooms.

The walk from Country Fair is the worst out of all the All-Stars and is comparable to the 80's and 90's at Pop. Neither is more than a 5-10 minute walk to the main building depending on your pace.

Well, thanks for the reply's. It never felt like it was a 30 min. ride, perhaps they are including wait time for the bus. We are all meeting on Sunday in Peoria for a last discussion before the trip. WE loved the Disney feel of Movies and I guess that is what I will really miss, but we have been happy at Sports and Music so I am sure we will be happy at Pop, heck we are going to Disney for nearly two full weeks...we had darn well better be happy!

anyway, thanks for all the help for this overly anxious, super stressed Grand Gatherings organizer, I really appreciate all the help I get from this board!

We just got back from Pop Century for a week and took the buses everywhere. It was most definitely NOT a 30-minute trip to MK--more like 15-20. Most of the time we didn't even need to wait very long for the bus to get there. Overall, the bus service was really great.

Dawrful,

My wife and I stayed at Pop last month. It's 15 minutes to MK tops by bus. Granted that's the longest ride to a park because of where Pop is located in the world. But it is a little more centrally located than the All Stars are so arguably its going to be a sorter ride than any of the All Stars would have.

Pop and the All Stars have basically the same services. Pop is brand new so everything is still gonna have a little of that new car smell.

From my personal experience and the reactions from people on the boards, if you like the All Stars because of the overwhelming amount of Disney Character theming, Pop might be a bit of a disappointment. Pop gets its themes from pop culture icons from each decade of the 20th century. They pull in some character references where appropriate but it's not wall to wall character statues like All Stars are. Its more like the moderate and deluxe resorts, where they are well themed but not nessecarily with a Disney Character slant. We just loved Pop because it wasn't all character based themes. We had a great time and would stay there again in a heart beat. And at $55 a night for passholders, the price can't be beat

Enjoy your trip and Go Blues!!! We'll get em next year

Well thanks Moustronaut,

For our immediate family,(me, hubby & 2 girls) we love all stars for being able to stay on property w/o having to take out a second mortgage ;) Thats why we have always stuck to the all stars and we have never been unhappy at any of them. So I think we will be happy at Pop...we'll know for sure in about a month!

I was just worried that some of our family members who have not ever stayed on property would be unhappy..esp. when I read that it was a 30 min. bus ride to MK. That was the big worry for me. Thanks again! I think it will all work out just fine and at the rate we got for 3 rooms for 12 people...I am sure we will have the time of our lives!

Just my 2 cents.....But we stayed at Pop in January and loved it! I have stayed at music and sports and I would definitely stay at Pop over those 2 anyday. Like someone else said the wait was minimal and the ride was 15 minutes tops....I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time there. Just relax the worst day at Disney is better than your best day at work
