Saw a site going through the remodel of AS movies. Looks identical to Pop rooms. Now wondering whats the big difference between them?

Haven't stayed in a remodeled ASMo yet but it would seem to be the same remodel but with different artwork.
I think that was the point of the refurb... I love the refurbed POP so I'm excited to stay at ASMo in November.

Skyliner.
If that is the only difference, I'm not sure Skyliner itself is worth 30 bucks more a night (looking at mid march times). Maybe if you have never been on the Skyliner before, it is a neat experience, but for a 7 night stay, 210 bucks just to ride the skyliner?

I think its a shame all star movies hasn't rethemed some areas, after all it has to be the ultimate IP themed resort 😀✌️Maybe replace love bug, mighty ducks and dalmations with star wars, marvel and frozen

Yup, the only difference is the Skyliner. I’ve stayed in the refurbished rooms at Movies and they are awesome. I actually prefer the All Stars because the actual resort is smaller in size compared to Pop.

We used it on our last trip and I would tell you it is worth it, the convenience is amazing

I think it sort of depends. If it's summer time, I don't think I'd want to be on the Skyliner at all and would def prefer the busses and their AC over it. The only part I enjoyed about the Skyliner really was the views of everything. To us, we really liked the skyliner when we stayed at Pop, but would I pay extra (in room cost) to use it? Nah..

The skyliner was great when it was running. When not, it can be quite a problem. Two times, we were at Epcot at the skyliner entrance ready to ride and it was closed. We had to walk to the front of Epcot to get a bus which in addition to the walk was a 1/2 hour wait for the bus. It was hot and we were tired. I even planned my day by walking to spaceship earth and working my way back so I would end up at the skyliner entrance to only find it was closed. I vowed to never stay at another skyliner hotel. I ask you could chose between the skyliner and the bus and was told that there are no buses if the skyliner is running. Too iffy.

Another advantage for POP is Hourglass Lake and the presence of water. It adds to the atmosphere vs. All Stars. Whether that is worth an extra cost is debatable, but it is one reason I prefer POP over All Stars.
