All Reservations taking tips on what to do?

This morning was our 180 days out time to make dining reservations. We have a party of 3. Wife called at 7:00 AM like every other trip. She didn't get any times we requested and did not even get reservations for some places like prime time cafe at all since they were fully booked already. We've never had this problem with getting reservations. They may have not been the exact time, but we still got something on that day. What are some tips others have done in this situation? Keep calling each day to check if somebody canceled or use the my disney experience website to keep checking?

Yep. Keep calling and checking the website.

When I booked my trip at 90 days out, I couldn't get BoG. Since then I have snagged and changed three different ADR's for BoG and now have the time and day I wanted.

We've always called. Is the internet a better way to do it?

I've heard the website doesn't always show everything and that the CM's can see more than we can but I have never called because I prefer to look for myself rather than being on hold and waiting for help. It worked fine for me but if you're used to calling then there's no real advantage to using the website.

Internet just tends to be easier IMO because you can just start the search right off the bat. I have called a few times to update my reservation and just asked if I could also speak to dining, and I did get an opening for Le Cellier that I didn't see on the internet that day. Maybe it was a timing thing, maybe not. But I most always use the internet.

Check everyday, especially closer to your travel dates because people will have to cancel to avoid the fees now. Good luck!

I would definitely think so. You have an hour to get what you can and also see what's might be more difficult to get that perfect time. Then call at 7 to double check, and continue to scour the internet.

I was able to get all of mine online at 6 with a good amount of available times, but I'm going at a slower time so take that into consideration.

Ya hve heard lots of people hve had problems this week trying to get ADRs! I hope that means it's not going to be overly crowded because the week I am going usually isn't!

I hve never had the problems I had trying to book ADRs for this trip. At 5am my time is when the online ADRs start. Guess what, the we site wasn't workin properly and the ADR finder wouldn't work for anything! I had to wait until 6am to call. I called at 601am, had to wait over an hour to get through, and a lot of times I wants I couldn't get! I was able to get everything I wanted to, but my ohana dinner had to be bumped to our last park day because it's all that was available! I got a 720am chef mickeys as well! Too early for me but is all they had left! I was hoping for more like 8am!

I will keep checking the website for better times in some of my dining options! It was just frustrating to say the least...

Welcome to trying to get reservations during Free Dining. And yes...there will be more crowds in the parks. Maybe not overly crowded, but more so than if there was not Free Dining.

Just keep calling, and also be prepared to switch things around.

Looks like that is the week before Thanksgiving week? and one of the last weeks of Free Dining in November, so that may not be helping things. Check MVMCP dates, you may need to work around that too.

Related question- online booking starts at 6am, phone at 7am right? So I'm assuming if you go online at 6am, your chances are better?
Yes-that is correct. I booked all of mine as soon as the website allowed me to at 6am Eastern Time. I got everything I wanted for the times I wanted except for Be Our Guest.

Thanks, the reason I ask is because for the first time I am using a travel agent. Apparently they cannot book online because they can't sign into your account. They can however call for you. So I will be making my ADRs. Having them make them though was (at least in my opinion) one of the perks so it kind of stinks.

Except when the website won't work! :( this happened the other day on my 180th day! I was too mad online wouldn't work! I called at 601am my time and had to wait over an hour and a few of the places I wanted have awful times but I took them anyway...hope to find something better...

That's some really bad luck-maybe some times will open up for you!

I have heard the opposite. From what I understand, cms see the same thing we do. It's just a matter of whether you want to do the searching or have someone else do it for you. Personally, I prefer to do the searching.

The exception in special stuff like the fireworks parties, etc. Sometimes you are better of calling for those.
