Sorry, I wanted to answer your questions a while back, but I had trouble getting registered as a WDW forum person. I've been reading the posts everyday ever since June because I'm a die hard Disney Fan. But now I am registered, and I will tell you all I know about Ultimate Ride. I bought it about 3 weeks ago.

Q: Is Ultimate Ride worth the money?
A: In my opinion, I think it is. It's really cool because you can do everything to your coaster you want to. You can pick from 3 different envirements: Mountain, Cavern, and Outer Space. You also have 4 theme types: Crystal Empire(Jule Vernish Theming), Meideval(Dragons and Knights), Space Theming(Robots and Stuff), and regular theming(trees, Volcanoes, and Planets). You also have 3 coaster styles steel, wooden, and Inverted.

Q: What is the building tool like?
A: It is very easy to get the coaster exactly the way you want with unlimited ways of pitching, twisting, or raising the height.

Q: What are some special features in the game?
A: A cool feature in the game is that you can put any MP3's to your coaster. You also have a meter that shows you how many g's are on that section of the track any time you click on it. You can also chose the seat you sit on the train, the time of day(day, night, dusk), and you can choose the type of train(themed or normal), and you can choose the color of your train.

Q:Are there people or other rides You can choose from?
A: No, this is a rollercoaster simulator not a theme park simulator.

Q: What are the props like?
A: The props are very cool in that when your train passes by, for instance, a dragon will begin breathing fire or a volcanoe will erupt.

Q:What's this stuff I here about getting rated on the internet, riding other peoples' coaster, and getting status of Roller god?
A: If you go to the official site, which is www.ultimateridegame.com, you may post your coaster on the site and have other people rate your coaster. You become a Roller god if enough people ride it and rate your coaster highly. A roller God is picked every month or so... I think.

Q: What's this I here about buying it at Best Buy and getting 2 exclusive props and and extra coaster?
A: The exclusive props are for Best Buy and Some other store only, and come with the game. The extra coaster is not a new coaster type, just a new prebuilt coaster.

Q: What's this about secret prop codes?
A: The prop codes can be found in your PC magazines. These codes allow you to get secret props. There are 20 in all.

Q: What are some of the codes?
A: I know 11 codes, and don't worry I'll give them to you. Type them in all caps and space when I space or it won't work.
AQUA, SPHERE, GOFISH, DENTIST, FERDINAND, WHINER, PRINCESS, CHEESE, ORB, NURSEWACKO, GRUB.

Q: Will there be an expansion pack?
A: Yes, I will tell you about in my next post. This is what really should excite you. Check below.

P.S. If you have any questions feel free to post them here.

Expansion Packs and Some

Ok here goes about the expansion pack.

Q: When will it be released
A: The release date is Spring 2002

Q: What will it include
A: So far, I know that half loops and half corsrews will be added. Also, a prop creator will be available soon. This allows you to create any props you like... Sorta like the Sims where you can download new objects from fan sites. It will also include more realistic envirements, more coaster types, and more props such as underground props and water props.

Q: What else is in the future for Ultimate Ride?
A: Ultimate Ride 2 is already a possibility.

OK GUYS HERE'S THE ONE THAT IS GOING TO MAKE YOUR DAY!!!

They are seriously planning a game that is called Ultimate Ride Disney Edition. Rumors/Ideas for this game include: They will start out with Magic Kingdom and make the rest of the expansion packs. You might be able to create animaltronics that talk, and build splash mountain, and Space Mountain, and Thunder Mountain, and build a ride to replace 2000 Leagues Under the Sea, and design new rides, and ride them all. I can't guarantee that all this will happen, but all I can say is that Hopbell, the producer of Ultimate, has told us that they are seriously thinking about doing Ultimate Ride: Disney Edition. This really excites me.
I know all this info because on the main site on their message boards we can post ideas and Hopbell replies to us. This is like the only game that I know of that the producer talks with us and takes our suggestions.

Well, like I said before if you have questions; I'll be glad to try to answer them. Also reply and tell me some ideas for Ultimate Ride: Disney Edition, or go to the main page and post it on the message board.

2 great posts BAM. Thanks very much!

i know it's not a theme park sim. But is it as user friendly as RCT, unlike Theme Park World (which I personally found very awkward to use, especially after using RCT)

Wow baby. This game sounds wicked awesome! There's so much I gotta get after I save enough money for my WDW trip! By then I bet they'll have released the Disney Edition. :brick:

If anyone is wondering if the game is too unrealistic and is like Sim Theme Park, it's not.

It's focus is theming and good graphics. You do have a choice where you can choose whether you want to have the themed train or the regular train. The regular train is very cool and looks realistic.

I have just created a rollercoaster with a Meideval Theme (in witch I had Beastly Kingdom in mind). The music I put to it was the music from the Shot Out scene in the movie the Matrix. The music feature in my opinion makes the game, it's excellent.

I am personally really looking forward to the prop editor; that way I can make any prop I feel like making.

Great Post BAM!

I bought the game last tuesday and I have yet to play it. I can't play it cause my PC only has 4MB of video memory and I am waiting for my new 4MB card to come in the mail. But I can' t wait to play, it has to be good. I was waiting for someone to really tell me about the game and if it's worth it. You definately did that in this thread.... so thanks!

i've never even heard of this game until now! it sounds really awesome though!! i'll have to try and check it out sometime? but what stores can you find it in? the only Best Buy around where i live is about an hour and a half away, and we usually don't go that far too often (and we just went there last week, so who knows when we'll go back). anyway, do stores such as Target or Wal-Mart carry it? also, which office supply stores carry it?

this is just curiousity, but has anyone else ever played Sim Coaster? it's a pretty fun game...at times the graphics tend to get a little screwed up, but that just might be my computer. but in it there are 3 themes; Land of Invention, Arabian Nights, and Polar Zone. for some reason this game 'supposedly' focuses on the roller coasters, but really it doesn't. it's just like a real theme park...ya gotta put in landscaping, restrooms, shops, side shows, eateries and such. plus you gotta hire all kinds of employees (landscapers, entertainers, janitors, security, researchers, etc.) and there are tons of other rides other than roller coasters. and on top of that, you have to complete objectives and challenges. not to mention there are people who tend to misbehave and you have to call security to throw them out. it's a lot of work, but tons of fun! the graphics are cartoony, but pretty cool! and you can ride the rides as well (but you can't pick which seat you want to sit in :( ) the music is really cool (unfortunately my music stopped playing one day and has never really came back since) and the themeing of the parks are 100% consistant and awesome (for instance, when you put in a costume shop in Polar Zone, the little people come out looking like Eskimos) my game has a few bugs in it, but if you can look past those, it's a really great game! the Challenges are truely challenges...if you fail 5 of them, you're fired! and you have to complete certain objectives to open up different parts of the parks. but, you can't choose which theme you want...it automatically starts you out at Land of Invention, then you have to work your way up to Polar Zone and Arabian Nights. and it's always day time at the parks as well....like a said, a really cool game...but really Ultimate Ride sounds so much better than SC, so i definately have to check it out!!
if you want to see SC for yourself, take a look here: http://www.simcoaster.ea.com/main.html

I'm glad so many people are interested into the game. Ok to answer the question about where you can get this game try checking out: Wal-Mart, Babbage's, Circuit City, Best Buy, Electronics Boutique, any electronics store that sells software. Basically all software stores have it, but if you absolutely cannot find it; look on Amazon.com and you can buy it from there.

Best Buy was the cheapest, they had it for $27.99 when it was on sale (not sure though if it is still is on sale). Walmart and Amazon had it for like $34.99 or something. Hope this helps.

If anyone has questions fill free to ask.

I can't imagine it being sold out, but I have seen an awful lot of advertising on TV for the game.

Have you tried Best Buy, that's where I got it.

I don't know??? Almost all stores around my neighborhood have it.

Ultimate is becoming a hit, by the way. I can tell about the increase of messages put in everyday. I followed up on this game since the beginning of summer.

Also, if your stores are sold out or something, you can go to www.ultimateridegame.com and download the trial version. The trial version is pretty cool. Just go to the main menu and click on the tab that says "Download the new Demo".

Hope your stores soon get this game in stock.
