Hello Experts. I will be staying @CSR for the first time in the middle of July. I have been spoiled staying at either AKL or WL. I understand CSR is a large resort and my travel agent suggested booking a preferred room, which I did. She recommended Casitas building #3 since it is fairly close to the restaurants, bus stop near El Centro and a quite pool. Just wanted to get everyones feedback on this and the resort in general, since as I have already said it will be my first time there. Could you also comment on the Pepper Market & Maya Grill, and how the bus service is. Lastly
how long in time does it take to get from CSR over to the following:
1) AKL
2) MK
3) AK
4) Epcot
5) HS
6) Blizzard Beach Thanks Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ROFLOL:

I've stayed there a couple of times, the resort is quite nice and comparable to other moderate resorts. Boat rentals are available but you don't get much room to navigate. I'm not sure about the bus times but you can be sure that the further away the park is the longer it may take, and the bus also stops at multiple stations at the resort. It is a convention hotel so you may see more suits than you would say at Port Orleans, not saying that is a bad thing but if you have kids they may have more fun at another resort. The Pepper Market is buffet style and pretty good, I didn't eat at Maya Grill...hope this helps.

By no means am I an "expert" but I will say that if I had my choice of building I would go with either 1 or 3. Both buildings are a definetley closer to El Centro and both have great views unless of course you get a parking lot view (although I have had a Everest view once). Building 4 has a quiet pool and the spa/salon not to mention the first stop for busses (El Centro is stop 4). The only thing that is a bit of a walk is the Dig Site pool but other than that I think you are set up pretty well. Enjoy!

~Edit~ Any other questions feel free to ask i am all Mickey ears.

CSR is the most central to the 3 parks. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World in part three "Selecting your Hotel" it states that the commuting times to the parks from CSR are: 7:30 to MK; 4:00 to Epcot; 4:45 to MGM; and 4:45 to Animal Kingdom! See the map below.

Blizzard Beach is also under 5 mins.

Hello there.

The Coronado Spring's Resort is between Blizzard Beach and AK. FAR from MK, but not from Epcot and Hollywood Studios. It's actually near the WDW entrance NE of the All Star Resorts and just west of AKL.

I've never eaten at the resort's restaurant, but have heard and read good reviews. To be honest with you, the most I remember about my last stay at the CSR, are their thick yummy waffles! :slurp: Every DR I have stayed at, I've only taken advantage of their breakfast buffet and end up reserving elsewhere in DW for lunch and/or dinner.

I didn't have any complaints about the bus service at all. It depends on the time of year you plan to make your stay. During the Spring, Summer and Winter times, it is always crowded, so you may experience a crowded ride to your destination; not so much a longer wait time -more buses are scheduled to route during busy times.

Our room was just a couple doors from the convention hall; so for most of our nights there, we did have a crowd hanging about near our room. Besides that, the stay was nice. Just like any other DR, it gives one a feel of being away at another destination far from home and it's great.

If you take a right out of CSR, Blizzard Beach will be on your left about a mile down the road. Its on the way to AK and AKL. CSR is not between them.

Hi Buzz,
Since you are the expert concerning CSR, how is the cab service from there over to AKL & back. I have stayed @ AKL and there always seem to be a couple cabs hanging around. I wanted to to be to go over and visit friends @ Victoria Falls & Boma. Also how is the bus service and comment good or bad on Maya Grill & Pepper Market @ CSR. Are there boat rentals available @ CSR. I have requested (thru travel agent booking)a preferred room and they are trying to request either Casitas building 1 or 3 so I am
fairly close to restaurants, bus stops and a quiet pool. Is there a bus stop near these Casitas buildings? Any help or tips as this will be my first stay @CSR. I usually stay @ aKL or WL and hope I will be happy @CSR.:)

Being a convention resort, there are always cabs up front. Just ask the bellmen to get you one.

The bus service is very good. Short rides to all the parks. CSR does not share buses with another resort.

The Pepper Market is operated by the same company that operates the food locations at the Mexican pavilion in Epcot. I enjoy the PM but it is pricey. The Maya Grill is a hidden gem. not many people know about it. I miss the breakfast buffet but the dinners are very good.

The marina is only open seasonally (most likely summer) so not sure if it will be open when you go.

Your best bet is casita 3. Great lake or fountain views and is close to the quiet pool in casita 4.

CSR is a large resort so be prepared to walk. AKL and WL have interior walkways so you will miss that aspect.

We stayed there last year, and by far, I would say that it is closer to AK than all the other parks. All you do is take a right as you exit out of Coronado Springs, then go up the road just a short distance, take the next right for AK/AKL, and you're right there. Even though it is not a DTD area resort, it is also just a straight shot up the road the opposite direction, from DTD. When exiting Coronado Springs, take a left and DTD is just up the road a little ways.

We really enjoyed staying there. Maya Grill was a decent restaraunt, but there was nothing overly spectacular about it. I had no complaints, but it didn't have that unique Disney theme that many other Disney restaraunts had. I am a firm believer in taking advantage of your resort restaraunt, just as part of the experience, so I would definitely recommend eating there since that's where you're staying. But if you were staying anywhere else, Maya Grill would be one of the last places I would think to recommend. Again, not because it is bad by any means, because it's not. But because there are so many other uniquely themed restaraunts on property.

I would say that DHS is closer then AK and AK & Epcot are tied for 2nd. For DHS, you take a left and go over the highway and you are there. But really these 3 parks are really close to CSR.

Hi Again Buzz,
Could you tell me what time the Pepper Market opens for breakfast in the morning? I was hoping to go there on the days MK has extra AM hrs, so I
could get something and then head over to the park. Also what is Rix lounge like, as I have never been there (dress code etc)? Thanks Again!!!:)

Pepper Market opens at 7am. Cafe Rix has to go items and opens at 6:30am. Rix Lounge is 21 and over after 9pm, no sneakers or tank tops allowed.
