Alcohol Question

My DW and I will be taking our first cruise ever on a five night cruise aboard the Disney Wonder in May.:sohappy:

Before we sail…we’ll fly in on a Friday and be transported from MCO via the ME to the AK to spend two nights at Kidani Village. We plan on spending Saturday at EPCOT. Sunday morning they take us via motor coach to the port for the cruise. DCL is the only cruise line that allows the passengers to carry on their own alcohol, you just need to have it in your carry on. While soda, coffee and tea are free on board the ship, obviously the alcohol isn’t. We would like to pick up a bottle of something to enjoy on board, perhaps a bottle of Captain Morgan to mix on our own to help save a couple of bucks. Without a car at WDW this might be difficult to find.

Does anybody know how or where we can purchase a bottle for our trip once we arrive in WDW while we’re at the mercy of Disney transportation? I don’t think that packing a bottle in our luggage when we’re flying is a real good idea.:hammer:

That's actually perfect! $20 for a set of two is absolutely reasonable especially since we can use them over and over. I expected it to be bigger, but I like the size of those since they can nestle in between other soft luggage without adding too much bulk.

My wife enjoys the wine and champagne in France. I'm not a fan of the stuff, but she said the selection was decent, and the prices weren't too onerous for Disney....

Well, good prices for Disney are high elsewhere.

You (or your wife) is right. The wines they have are decent, but they are limited (maybe 5 or 6) and the ones they have are not particulary my favorites.

Why not just pack it from home? Resort prices are crazy at WDW and getting to and from the off-site venues takes time away from your vacation. I've travelled with bottles well-protected in luggage without any problem. Wrapped in a bath towel and then in a plastic bag 'just in case' has been fine.

I'm curious I had thought about this when we came down for NYE but decided against it since I wasnt sure what TSA would think of it in screening. Have you flown recently with bottles in the luggage and did they say anything?

My parents are from the UP....that's the Upper Penninsula to you southern folk ;~) So we ALWAYS bring a huge suitcase full of alcohol. Dad only likes imported bottled beer, Mom likes Old Fashioned's and I prefer my amaretto and diet 7. We joke that we ARE lushes. :) But it just saves so much $$, totally worth it. And buying the mugs from the resorts to put your "spirits" in and then filling them up with soda - you make out like a bandit!
