Alaska Cruise What do I need to know?

We went on our very first cruise vacation ever last Oct on the Disney Dream to the Bahamas. It was by far the best vacation right after being in Disney world. The only thing I would have done differently would have been staying on the ship more and not doing so much off ship, I feel like we missed out on things. Anyway, we are hoping to do the Alaska cruise next year. What do I need to know to make this cruise as amazing as the last one? I know the last cruise was great because of all the great info I got here.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

I can't find it right now but you need to find Tammys (DisneyFalcons) trip report!!

Alaska looks like an amazing cruise

Ooh, I do have an Alaska trip report around her somewhere!

The good news about Alaska cruises is how much longer you'll have on the ship! You have enough sea days that you won't feel like you're missing things when you get off.

You'll need a camera, because it is gorgeous!!

Plan to spend the whole day on deck through Tracy Arm. It's amazing.

Sit down with your Navigator every night with a highlighter and highlight the things you don't want to miss the next day!

There's a million other things but those were the first things that came to mind. :)

Bring a windbreaker. I packed a lot of warm stuff - sweaters, fleece etc but when we were out on the decks, the wind cut through what I was wearing, and it wasn't that pleasant - they don't have heaters on the decks ;) Once we stopped at the first port, we bought windbreakers which made standing outside a lot more bearable.
