Aladdin Coaster

Ok...no one get too excited, its not actually how it sounds. But me and one of my buddies were talking about how cool it would be to have an Aladding themed Coaster..(Imagineers take notes). Imagine having a "magic carpet" themed vehicle. The coaster would start with a RnR style launch (perhaps vertical tho, like the hulk)...and would proceed to take you through a tigers mouth (opens last minute like TT doors before the high speed loop)..From there you are now riding an indoor coaster with soundtrack of classic intense aladdin music playing throughout your seat, and it will be a loopy ride through the cave of wonders with lava...treasure rooms, etc.....upon the end of the indoor segment, your coaster could come to a halt (much like your vehicle in EE), and you could see a short segment with blue smoke and an AA or projected Genie, where he claims to "hang on and he will get you out of here"...you then do a drop, and vertical climb full of barrel rolls where you exit the indoor portion and proceed to the outside air with bigger more elegant loops while "whole new world" plays from behind your head..........I think this ride would be amazing and much more suitable for such a classic animated film, as opposed to the existing ride....

Cool idea, no doubt, but its inlikely they'd do it. Budget, etc. would be one of the main reason, they also probably wouldnt want to copy Universal with the spider ride system either.

Where would they put it? Plus the outdoor track would need to be themed around something because Disney doesn't do the Six Flags thing of just plain ol' track in plain view :)

At the beginning of the Alladin movie I believe there is a carpet ride thru the city/village which would be a direct tie in and then you could go out to the desert and then go thru the mouth, etc.

A magic carpet ride would be cool!

yes I did think about the track in plain view....I agree, the track must definitely be out of plain sight or perhaps blocked by buildings of agrabah.....Just havin some fun with an idea...

If I remember correctly, in my 1995 planning VHS, when they show Innoventions, there is a clip of someone in some sort of Aladdin simulator where you ride on a magic carpet that looks similar to how this sounds. Can anyone confirm what that was?

there's a magic carpet simulator over at Disney Quest in downtown disney. im not sure what year it opened though so maybe the simulator was at innoventions before disney quest.

Sorry but I dont really like his idea... though it is creative, I dont want to see a roller coaster in the skyline of any Disney Theme Park except DCA.

The short lived Imagineering Labs. You`d go into a `lab` and watch a preshow about the history of WED/WDI, then proceed into the `test area` where a few guests were chosen to chase each other in a VR Akraba. The audience could watch on overhead screens. Still coming soon to the mass market....

This is why the majority of the coaster would be indoors (as in rockin roller coaster), with only a short closing section of outdoor track that would be hidden by the buildings of the agrabah marketplace (of course this is all hypothetically speaking...)

Think about it. Aladdin has a family appeal, this coaster wouldn't due to the intense loops and drops. Children would want to go on it but can't. Adults would love the coaster part but they'd think the theaming is a little corny for their taste. Result: A multi-million dollar attraction that would be shut down within a year to build something else.

Just trying to think about it the way Imagineers would.

I can see why that would bother some and possibly be a problem, but depending on where its at and which park, I think it would work. I also think that disney should just really suck it up and build more roller coasters.(Creative ones with incredible themes/story)

Even though some may say, "Oh disney isnt about that, or we dont come to disney to ride roller coasters," Yea that may be true, but I know that we come to disney or we expect disney to deliver unique themed storyfilled experiences, and if this aladdin coaster were to be built and more roller coasters with story/theme in general, thats exactly what we would get.

I disagree...RnR is verrry popular, and it is geared towards an older generation (how many young kids know about Aerosmith, and backstage passes to concerts?)....I look at the Aladdin coaster as a ride that kids would find intense and extremely enjoyable due to the theming.....and if you think adults wouldnt enjoy, you are absolutely wrong....You might as well claim that adults cannot enjoy Magic Kingdom, seeing as nearly the entire park is geared towards young children, and we know this is not the case based on the amount of grown ups who extoll the park extensively on this site alone......How many adults love, Peter Pan and Splash Mountain regardless of their theming geared solely for children.....?

I agree with some of what you are saying. But I really dont think rides like Peter Pan and Snow white(basically all the fantasyland rides) are geared solely toward kids. The movies I feel were family movies and I think the rides are aswell. I think its just that kids may enjoy them more.

Exactly.....I agree with you...I was trying to convey to Raven that I dont think adults would "like the coaster but find the theming cheesy....".........................................I feel that adults there would apreciate an incorporation of thrills and that classic disney feel.
