AKL - Which is considered the better room?

Is it simply personal preference? Or is it Savanna view? Or is it something else?

Maybe the better way to ask my question is, which view costs the most?

Unless you want to see the animals every day, then go for a standard room overlooking the car parks, they cost a lot less.

Savanna View is worth the extra money IMO. Especially with kids. We've done it at both Kidani and Jambo.

I wouldn't spend the extra money on the savanna view. They are located in better spots in terms of the lobby, pool, etc. However, there are standard rooms that can give you at least a partial savanna view.

Kidani v Jambo. Which do you prefer and why?

I'd say Kidani. We enjoyed the pool at Kidani more, especially the separate play area for kids. We loved Jiko, which is at Jambo, but it's within walking distance from Kidani. Kidani is also newer, and Villas only. You really can't go wrong either way.

I stayed at Kidani Village last year. Loved the view, the theming and having the extra bathrooms. I'd stay there again.

Sure there are great public spots to watch the animals from, but with a savannah room you get your spot. There's something to be said for rolling out of bed, pulling on a pair of shorts, and immediately watching the zebra mill around while waiting for your coffee to cool down.
