AKL vs YC

As a family that has stayed at the Gaylord Palms, our feedback is that this definitely should be added to your list.

If you are going just to relax, have you considered staying offsite? Orange Lake resort has a ton of things to do and not go to Disney. I talked with a lady we were going to rent from on the phone. She took her kids and after the 2nd day, they didn't want to go to the parks. They wanted to stay at the resort. Just something else to think about.

I think AKL feels like a destination in itself. I stayed there last year when my kids were 1.5 and 5, and they loved it as much as we did. So many spots for animal viewing, pool time, playground, dining, free night vision goggles, Movies Under the Stars, etc. You could go over to Kidani as well. I really think you'd have a great time there!

Thank you. I am fighting the urge but after pushing two strollers through the crowds we just want to enjoy the resorts. Plus I promised my husband it would be relaxing this time. I tend to become a drill sergeant during Disney vacations Lol!

My husband says that about me, too! But my kids, 1 and 2, LOVED the pool at the yacht. Can't be beat.

AKL hands down. Its just an opinion but, If Im going to stay over near Epcot the Boardwalk blows YC and BC away outside of not having the cool pool. Boardwalk is well designed, beautiful, fun atmosphere and lacks the thick pretentiousness YC and BC have. Even the GF lacks the pretentiousness those resorts have from the guests to the employees. Your kids and family will enjoy AKL a lot more. Plus you have some of the best food on property there.
