AKL or WL ?

We are going to Disney in July on the Fairytale pkg. and staying at ASMovies. The offers are so good I can't stand it so I am considering upgrading to the Animal Kingdom Lodge(savannah view) or Wilderness Lodge(courtyard view).

I need some opinions on which one. We have stayed at the wilderness lodge twice and LOVE IT. But AKL looks great too and we have a 2 year old who I think would go Ape(ha ha ) over seeing the animals out our window.

I am looking for some of that really good advice that is such a great part of these boards !!

I'll pipe in and give a vote toward staying at AKL. We love the place. We love it so much infact that we will not stay anywhere else at Disney now.

If you do a search on Animal Kingdom Lodge or AKL, you will see a long string of threads about this place. It's one of the most talked about resorts along with the Poly and Contemp from what I've seen.

Also, check out the reviews here at WDWmagic, there are several for the AKL as well.

Personaly, I think everyone should try AKL at least once. Get at Boma's at least once if you go. And take time out to walk around the resort to admire the resort itself, the art, the animals, and talk to the CMs and keepers.

Have fun in whatever you choose!

I just returned from a long weekend at the lodge and it was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful with any questions I had and the view from the balcony was great! It was really neat to wake up in the morning to see some giraffe or zebras strolling outside.

If I'd never stayed at either, I would choose the Wilderness. It just reminds me too much of the Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone Park. But... since you've already stayed there, why not try AKL?

Definitely Animal Kingdom Lodge--incredible theming, in my opinion this Resort Hotel is Disney's best.

its your choice............i stayed at the wilderness lodge last october and it was very good, i dont know about the animal kingdom lodge, ive never stayed there but have heard that it is very good as well

I'm a fan of the WL, but AKL may be a nice divserion, especially with an animal loving tike. Good choice
