AKL or CSR

We're usually YC/BC people but looking to switch it up a little this fall. I know CSR is a moderate but it looks like a nice place in the pics. The prices for AKL and CSR aren't that far off so what would you do? AKL seems like a hike to the parks while CSR is closer.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either. We were spoiled at AKL in Jan 2010 and if $ is not an issue, go for it :king:

I'm debating the same thing. We stayed at CSR last September and it was wonderful, but having visted AKL for dinner at Jiko... I just don't know.

Our situation is this, a few weeks ago I extended our stay at CSR by two days. The problem was that all the standard rooms seem to be booked so they had to change us to a king. At this point it would cost just under $700 for a 12 night stay to be switched to a standard at AKL.

It seems like a lot of money, but this is to be our "babymoon" and I suppose we will spend more time relaxing at our resort than we did in our previous trip. Not only will we most likely spend more time at the resort, but it will be a few years until we return (or spoil ourselves like this again).

UPDATE: Just did it, changed the reservation to standard room at AKL. May decide to get Savannah view when we check in

We stayed at CSR a year and a half ago and it was beautiful. Personally I felt it lacked a bit of the disney "vibe" and was more of a hotel for people at conventions or looking for a more mature disney hotel. The pool/pool bar/ nightclub are beautiful. We are staying AKL this August and are concerned about the travel to and from parks but it is such a beautiful hotel with many amenities that I think we can tack on an extra 5-10 min travel time (especially for the animal night vision viewing). Both hotels have many things to offer...it really depends on what you like! Have a wonderful trip

While I have not stayed at CSR, I would also have to say AKL, definitely. The service is excellent, the views are phenomenal and the restaurants are awesome :king:. My favorite part is the lobby. Probably one of my favorite lobbies in the whole resort. You have to see it, words can't really describe it.

And yes, it is a little farther than some resorts, however it is close to AK, so you'd be able to get there earlier than other guests. And it really isn't a bother that it's far because the experience is definitely worth it.
