Okay. The rates for 2010 were released Sunday so we finally knew how much our room rates were going to be for the upcoming January trip with the in-laws. My family had the savannah view w/bunkbeds booked. Can you believe it only costs us $45 more for the entire trip to upgrade into the Kilimanjaro Club? My in-laws had a savannah view booked and it will cost them like $360 more for the entire trip. Needless to say, we both upgraded and left our room requests in place: they really want a king bed and we really want the bunkbeds. Being close to each other or connecting would be nice but isn't as important as the bed requests. ((My sons fight like cats & dogs when it comes to sharing a bed..even a king bed..:hammer:))

This will be my first time staying on the club level at any WDW resort. I'd like to utilize some of the concierge perks such as the planning, etc. My question is this: how soon should or could I contact the concierge staff to start setting everything up (dining, tours, excursions, etc.)? How good are the concierge staff at getting you exactly what you want (dining reservations at specified restaurants at the times you want)? In the past I've done my own ADRs and been pretty dang successful at getting everything with only a few exceptions. Like I said, I want to utilize the concierge services with this stuff but only if I'm pretty confident that they can do as good a job as me. I guess it shows that I'm not one to give up control easily when it comes to our trip planning.

Also, does anyone have any tips for us when it comes to the club level stays? Any secrets I should know about? We plan to take advantage of the sunrise safari for sure. That's my MIL's dream and my youngest son being the animal/nature freak he is will go nuts. That's a gimme. :D

Thanks lots!

I don't know the answers (sorry) but you can go to the Mom's panel on Disney's website and they might be able to help you answer some of these questions. I know I'm constantly on this website and the mom's panel for everything I need to know.
