AKL Jambo House Room Choices

We are renting DVC points for a savanna view deluxe studio at the AKL Jambo House in May. Does anyone who has stayed at the Jambo House in a savanna view room have any tips on the best areas to stay? Which savanna and trails are the best for animal viewing for example? Any tips are appreciated. Thanks!

We stayed there last September and did not see any animals. I cannot remember what savanna we where on. When you go through the lobby towards the big window in the back we were to the left of that helps. We rented DVC points for standard view and we were upgraded to savanna view so we were very happy with that and since we did not pay for the view not seeing any animals was not a loss.

We stayed in 5509 - it was a deluxe studio sav view and it was perfect. Gorgeous Arusha Savannah view and very near the elevator down to the pool.

Touring Plans has a great tool here -> https://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-animal-kingdom-lodge you can use to see how rooms are classified. However, the odds of seeing an animal are pretty random. They do their best to get the animals to go all over property by strategically placing their food, but that also means that if you aren't in a given area when the food gets staged, you might miss the animals. I've gone days without seeing animals from my room, and then I'll have a day where I see a half dozen animals for 30+ minutes.

Stayed there last summer, savannah view (outward facing, westerly - Sunset Savannah IIRC). Didn't see anything other than a bunch of birds occasionally hanging out on a "fallen tree" in the mud and once an ostrich walked by. *shrug* The savannah view wasn't very pretty; mostly a mud bog with a trail around it. And other than the above, no animals either.
