AKL Gameroom

Has anyone been to the AKL's game room? If so, how big? What types of games? # of kids' games?

I learned the hard way that the phrase "gameroom" can be a very loose definition. About five years ago, I stayed at a hotel in central Florida that claimed to have a "gameroom". It consisted of three games, one of which was broken. The best of the three was DigDug. Enough said.

I went in during Christmas. There were quite a few games.

Not as many ticket/coin type games like at the All-Stars. It seems like there are more arcade games, but I could be mistaken.

I went in while family was doing laundry. I think all I played was baseball.

If the game room at the AKL isn't up to snuff, try the game room
at The Contemporary Resort. It's the largest game room at
WDW.

The gameroom at AKL is pretty good. We spent quite a bit of time in there last September. They're pretty much all arcade style games (rather than the ticket redemption games you can find at the All-Stars and the Contemporary). They also had an air hockey table I think.

Going to the Contemporary from AKL just for a game room seems a bit much.

The gameroom at AKL is okay. It's not the highlight of the resort, and isn't meant to be. They have a few of the latest and greatest games, skee-ball and air-hockey. There are about 30 or so games. There's an equal amount of driving games, war-type games, classic games, and virtual-type games. The room itself isn't that big at all, and isn't decorated that well either. It's a basic hotel game room. Nothing more, nothing less. It's more than enough if all you want to do is play a few games, and your kids, they will love it. You will not be able to pass the arcade without having your kids beg you for a few quarters. Have a great time at AKL!

True game rooms include several pinball machines. Luckily, Disney Resorts do incluse these, however, each year there are less and less.
