AKL at Christmas

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has visited or stayed at AKL during the Christmas season. This is my first Christmas trip and I have already booked MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional Package. However, I didn't know if the AKL did anything special, put up a lot of decorations, etc.

When we went in January, AKL was the only park that still had christmas decorations up. There was a huge tree at the entrance. There were also decorations and trees at some of the character meet and greet locations. I'm sure that there are even more decorations during the actual season, but it was kind of nice to see the how pretty the decorations were while we were there.

Like all the deluxe resorts there are decorations galore but at AKL but they are definitely unique. Like the resort itself the Christmas decorations follow an African theme. If you have the time visit the other deluxe resorts, especially those on the monorail loop, and check out their decorations as well.

I love AKL during Christmas. The tree and other decorations are beautiful. The fireplace in the lobby is wonderful. They also do a tree lighting ceremony where cast members from Africa sing hymns and talk about Christmas in their country. It's a wonderful program where you can sing along. I wish I could stay there every year.
