AKL and balloons??

So this may be silly.. But I'm a 25 year old with a love for Mickey head balloons .. I always get one every time I go.. On my first day and decorate my hotel room with it.. It just makes waking up so early so much easier


I am a zookeeper professionally and I know that most zoos and animal sanctuaries do not allow things like straws and balloons for the safety of the animals...


Soooo my question is .. Will I be able able to take a ballon back to my room at AKL??

That is a great question. I would assume yes but having never stayed at AKL I am not certain.

I would think they would also because I don't think Disney has it in them to take balloons away from all of the kids that get them.. But I know that animal kingdom only has paper straws because of the wildlife.. Which is why in questioning it

Actually, they do NOT allow balloons at AKL, so you'll have to decorate in a different way. They will confiscate any balloons as you enter the Lodge and return them to you at the end of your stay.

You will actually have to leave it all Bell Services and pick it up at the end of your stay…or, sadly, you will have to deflate it.

Balloons and plastic straws are not allowed on property there, or at AK park.

I can't remember if it was a sign or a pamphlet in your check in materials, but I remember seeing the policy at some point when we were there back in September. It's likely for the best as it would be so easy for a balloon to float out onto one of the savannahs.

AKL will gladly babysit your balloon at the front desk/bell services and return it when you leave, but you aren't supposed to take them to your room.

Nope, no balloons at the AKL. It's so wonderful there that you may not even miss it.

Actually, if you are getting a balloon, and are staying at AKL or at Jambo House or Kadani Village, the balloons will be held in a storage room sorta thing until you're ready to go!
