AKL: Advice for upgrade to concierge?

Hello fellow Mouseketeers,

My wife and I will be going back to WDW for our 5 year anniversary this August (7-14) and we've already booked the savanna view room at AKL. Since it's our 5th and I've heard so many good things about the concierge rooms, I thought it might be a nice surprise for my wife if we upgraded to the concierge room (without her knowing about it till we checked in) .

What would be the best way to upgrade? Should I check with Expedia (whom we booked our package through) or call the AKL reservation desk? Also, anybody know how much it would be to upgrade? Of course, any $ savings tips or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Its always a good idea to deal with the people who originally booked your trip. They have all the info (others have run into that problem). Not sure of the price, but a big :kiss: to you for wanting to suprise your wife. :wave:

I just booked a Savanna View room for 5 nights. The concierge room was about $800 more for the 5 night stay.

Book soon and take advantage of benefits

We did the same thing last year for our 5th anniversary. We had a great time and the staff in the concierge section is great at helping plan your trip. They will help you with planning dinners and can get you setup with some special tours that are available to AKL concierge guests only. We did the buy 4 get 3 free special last year and that worked out to be about the same amount that a Savannah view room would be without a discount for 7 nights.
