On a recent stay at AKL-Jambo House, my DH and I noticed that there seemed to be a couple of resort rooms near the corner as you approach the bus depot. The walls for their balcony are solid compared to the other rooms at this resort and fairly high; adds to their privacy. Are these rooms used often? Has anyone ever stayed in one of these rooms?

I have. My first trip with my wife when we had been dating about 7 months, August of 2004. We got annual passes and wound up going three times within a year and buying DVC between the second and third trip. This first trip, we got the room with the passholder discount, it was only about 100 bucks. It would have been like an extra 25 bucks for a pool view and an extra 50 a night for savannah. Pool didn't interest us as we were worried about noise, and while savannah was tempting, we figured we wouldn't be in the room for the view (Bowm-a-chicka-chicka-bowm-a-chicks-BOWM-BOWM). So we opted to save some money and squeeze an extra night out of our stay. But remember what I wrote earlier about noise? Well, noise wasn't often a problem where we were but sometimes people got a little mouthy waiting for their buses to parks, or a little drunky coming off buses from DtD and REALLY wanted people to know about it. But it wasn't so bad, for us, that trip, anyway. NO view to speak of, but also no worries about the hot sun shining through the balcony door, either.
