Akershus Princesses

Have any of you seen Tiana at the Akershus breakfast? The reviews I've seen most recently show an increase in Cinderella appearances, which is nice as I think there will never be a hope of CRT for us.

Yeah- I was quite shocked to see Cindy when we went to Akershus last month. You might also consider 1900 Park Fare for dinner if you're trying to see Cinderella w/o the price tag of CRT. As for Tiana...I personally think both Tiana and Rapunzel need to be added into the princess rotations at the character meals. They both make a lot more sense than Mary Poppins (even though I do love MP). I'm thinking Disney might throw them into such meals if they start integrating them into more of the general princess merchandise sold outside of the parks. i.e. if Tiana and Rapunzel start showing up on bedding, party invites, toothbrushes, shampoo bottles, food items, etc. - they'll start putting them into the character meals.

Tiana is on EVERYTHING at stores. I have seen bedding, lunchboxes, band aids, barbies, etc! I really wish they would add her more inside the parks. The younger children know these princesses well because their movies came out during "their time". When I was talking with some of the girls at the daycare I work at, all of them said their favorite princess was Tiana or Cinderella. We then started naming off princesses and some of them didn't know Aurora or Mulan.

Another big thing with Tiana is that she is the only African American princess. If I was a little african american girl, I would love to see Tiana seeing as she would look the most like me.

I thought maybe not since she just started appearing in group princess merchandise. I guess for now, the thing to do would be to contact guest communications to let them know there is a want.

Well, that and a tea with Tinkerbell character meal.

I have the feeling it will be at least a year before Rapunzel gets integrated with the group on merchandise, much less dining.

I agree she's on everything now. My daughter's backpack has Tiana front and center between Cinderella and Aurora. I wish they would put her in the princess rotation for meals it would be alot easier then waiting in the hour+ line, I had to, so that my daughter could say she had all the princesses autographs.
And yes you can get a Tiana dress at BBB.

I'm not saying there isn't Tiana specific merch out there. I'm speaking of the General Princess Merchandise = not being princess specific. i.e. The merch that has 3 or more princesses on it (since this seems to be the Disney Princess cash cow). While there may be things out there where she's included in the mix, it's extemely rare. i.e. seeing some combo of Cindy, Snow White, Belle, Aurora, Ariel, and to a lesser degree - Jasmine, is the norm. I know she's starting to appear on some multi princess merch, but the little I've seen here does not seem to move.

The do offer Tiana at BBB and I know plenty of kids know who she is and love her- but until she's standing next to Cinderella and the other classic princesses on every little bit of multi princess merch under the sun, I think the odds of her being at a princess meal are slim. Not impossible- but slim.

I was disappointed not to find a Tiana bath set for Christmas this year because she'd been lumped in with the group Princess set. So no more Jasmine scented lotion for my daughter.

I knew Tiana had finally made it into the roster when she began appearing on Pull-ups

The one complaint I do have is that it's the same exact pose and I wish they'd draw something new. (Well, that and I actually prefer the Princesses separately rather than in a group.)

That's really interesting. The only Pull Ups I've seen of late have Aurora. I have a friend who was griping last month b/c she couldn't find Tiana mixed into anything princess here and options of things that are solely Tiana are dwindling b/c they overloaded the shelves with Rapunzel goods. I'm wondering if the product releases are regional.

The group Princess things did dwindle in general with Tangled's release.

But the regional thing could be part of it. I live in Target Central.
