Akershus: lunch or dinner?

Would you do lunch or dinner at Akershus if you had only 1 day to see Epcot?

We're doing our first trip to WDW this December and spending 1 day at Epcot. I wanted to make reservations at Akershus so my DD (2 years) and DS (5 years) can meeting the princesses without waiting in line in the parks. I got 2 reservations: lunch at 12pm and dinner at 5:25pm.

I know the menus are the same, so I'm trying to plan this around ensuring we have enough time to walk around Epcot, ride the rides, see the attractions, and watch Illuminations (at 9:30pm). My plan is to have our other meal at the Tangierine Cafe (& buy snacks at Les Halles and Kringla!).

So what makes the most sense from a planning point of view? Lunch or dinner at Akershus? Or maybe it doesn't matter?

What's the kids' typical schedule? FWIW, we tended to do counter service lunches when the kids were small, so we could eat quickly and then go straight to our hotel for a 2-hour nap (typical for them even when at home), since the kids by then would have been pounding the pavement since before rope drop, and would be tuckered out and starting to get a little fussy. After their naps, they'd get up all refreshed and in a good mood for dinner, which was when we typically scheduled our table service meal. YMMV.

My DD usually takes a nap before/after lunch, but my DS never takes a nap. We'll have a stroller so I figured she can nap in that.

i think I would do the lunch one. Then afterwards you can wander around world showcase while the little one naps in the stroller. There isn't a lot to ride in world showcase so she won't really miss much being asleep. I would do stuff in the front of the park in the morning. Head over to world showcase at 11. Do the boat ride in Mexico first. Then head over and meet Anna and Elsa. Have a fast pass for Frozen ride right before lunch. Eat and then finish world showcase. You could also do the fast pass right after lunch. Once the little one is awake you can head back over to future world and do more things she can partake in.
