I say while the two parks are similar in theme, they're different on many levels.

Yes, they both have animals and most are in areas similar to their natural habitat, and I think AK built their park to better suit the animals. However, BG has great areas as well and would love to expand, if they had the land.

Coasters, I give my vote to BG. Sheikra, Montu, Kumba, and of course, Cheeta Chase does beat out the two at AK, though Everest is great.

Scenery is great at both parks, but AK is Disney so they get the nod there. BG is awesome, but Williamsburg tops all parks with the scenery.

Theming goes to Disney, it's a no brainer.

Food, I go with BG. Busch always make sure you get quality food, and I honestly like the food down there better.

Beer... It's free at BG! Duh!

I must say I do enjoy both parks and I wish I could get down to BG more often. I have a platinum pass to the Beer Parks and a pass to Disney. I find myself going to the other three Disney parks more than AK, and I hit SeaWorld more too. AK is fun, but we only go when family or friends are in town and want to go on Everest.

The other good thing about a day trip down to BG... the casino! It's nearby and they're about to start playing blackjack and roulette!

Everyone is forgetting the one attraction which sets Busch Gardens far beyond anything Disney will ever be able to achieve with AK...

PIRATES 4D!

I like the Animal exhibits a lot more at Busch Gardens + the good coasters and flume plus rapids rides... Though Kilimanjaro Safari is superb. I enjoy both!

Ya because a Pirates show would really fit into the theme of DAK?? Lol...what does that have to do with Conservation?? I really hope you were joking!

Do you like the Animal exhibits, why? Because the animals are in small cage like areas?? Or is it because they are out in the open right under a roller coaster??? Or is it because they aren't as diversity and different then DAK's?? Sorry but when I go to Busch Gardens it seems so dirty and unkempt compared to DAK. And I always feel bad for the animals and I hate the idea of allowing guests to throw bird seeds or food at them for entertainment? This is how animals become exgressive, thats why Disney avoid this.

UM? there Flume rapid rides are better??? um One is just one that goes around in a circle (the lazy river at Disney's Water park has better theming then that) and has no theming...and one drop?? And then another that is similiar to Splash mountain but looks like a carny ride with no theme?? Boring...if I want to get wet on a boring ride then I'll stick with dumping water over my head lol,:p

Like someone said above...DAK was not created to be the typical " cheap thrill ride" theme park.

Thats good that you do like both, sorry if I was a bit harsh or mean.. Sorry I just had to get that off my mind.

Busch Gardens practically invented the idea of having free roaming animals in a theme park 20 years before Animal Kingdom opened it's gates. And all this
talk on conservation, dont forget that 29 animals died (including cheetah cubs, otters and rhino's) before Animal Kingdom
even opened.

I would def. say I would rather have BG close to me rather than AK, simply because I wouldnt want a disney on par theme park by me, because we pay so much and go so far for that experience. But I would say AK has alot of growing up to do. I havent been to BG in some years, but I loved the coasters they had their, I still would say AK has the edge because of the theming and the disney name in front of it, but for someone who wants thrills BG can do no wrong.

Where are there free roaming animals in the theme park?? compared to DAK?? Other than the not so old Rhino Rally which is mini compared to KSR. In my opinion not based on facts or anything...Busch I feel focuses more on the rides then the animals. And I feel DAK focuses on both, again though an opioin not fact.:zipit: There might have been animals that had died at the begining, but this was in the transfer process I believe..but you can correct me on that.
And What I mean about the conservation message lives through out all of DAK, it is one of the main themes...you just have to look for it...Kali Rivers, its about deforestation, Everest : Killing the unknown (meaning creating a train that cuts through the mountain then go around it), Dinosaur: showing us the past on how if we don't protect the animals today they will be lost forever ..you can see an example of this when you walk of the attaction on the mural timeline and through out the land.

These are just a few examples of the efforts they do at Dak, and I'm not going to even touch on the DWCF and all of it many efforts. I'm not saying Busch Gardens does not have this but at the moment I can not think of any examples that focus on this theming.:) But like some one said before me ...its Disney...of course there is going to be better theming.

BG for a long time has had a huge area for animals. Rhino Rally only goes through part of it. The train also covers a large area and they also had a nice monorail before Rhino Rally was put in. I miss the monorail they had, was great on a hot summer day to see the animals. For years Busch Gardens didn't have ANY thrill rides, the first was the Python in the early 70s, then it grew from there. Lets not forget that BG was around way before WDW.

Thank you for correcting me...:) i forget how the park use to be... I remember my parents telling me about that...and also sea world how back in the day it didn't have any rides and it was a fancy "zoo". But I'm talking about todays current state of the parks. It maybe my fault that I don't see these large areas of animals roming around and I'm distracted by the big metal roller coaster in "africa" just like many guests at DAK don't realize the amount of animals that are just in the oasis. It could have also been because the times I have gone to the park it has been on school trips as a child..and I was so angry that we didn't go to WDW lol...or it could have been because I was running to the next ride and my friends got me distracted.

I would have to say I do like their eygpt area...:lookaroun...

I assuming you are talking about my wonderful spelling and sentence structure skills! :) Thanks:) For pointing out. Maybe thats why the above poster said he wont point out the other pointless stuff I mentioned. Maybe it was because of my bad typing so fast?? LOL:ROFLOL:

DAK always has been near and dear too my heart, but I have to say BGT. I'm a thrill type of guy, I love going on coasters and rides and being thrown around a seat and stuff. DAK pretty much doesn't really cover it, expections of everest. Although DAK is pretty cool and its theming is outstanding, I just can't really fall in love with it until Beastly Kingdom opens. :D

And don't forget that DAK took a bunch of ideas from BGT, or let me rephrase that.. uhhh both parks has its "similarities". BGT opened waaaayyy before DAK was even though of, and many things were though first and made first.

1. A safari through africa
2. wild mouse type of ride
3. africa setting
4. scenery and theming, like the bird gardens etc.

And just more things. Just think about it. But DAK fans, don't jump on me I still admire DAK.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Busch Gardens was in my opinion a right dump. The park, while not dirty was very shabby, the staff had such a bad attitude I thought I was back in the UK, and the animal "exhibits" reminded me of zoos in the 80s.

There is no comparison, Busch has great thrill rides and free Bud, AK has a number a good attractions but is beautifully themed and better for animal viewing experience

Busch Gardens for sure, even though my fascination with coasters has slipped a bit in recent years. I think it's a shame that they allowed AK to open the way it was on opening day, the park couldn't even keep my family interested for 3 hours on our first trip in 2000. It's gotten better, but still nowhere near good enough as far as I'm concerned.
