AK parade with MK dinner question...

Hey all!!

We recently had to move a couple of our days around as far as what parks we were going to.

This leaves us going to AK on the same day as we have a 5:15 Liberty Tavern MK reservation. Been trying for a later time or different day, but no luck yet.

Anyway, this isn't really an issue except I really wanted the kids to be able to see the [SIZE=-1]Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade and this is the only day we can do it. It doesn't start til 3:45.

Any hope for seeing this parade and making our reservation???? Not sure of the parade route and if there's a better place to stand closer to the park exit, etc... any advice would be fabulous!!!! and I'm going to keep calling them to check on cancelled ressies!!

Thanks!

I think if everything timed perfectly, you'd *just* make it. It would require you to watch the parade from Discovery Island right near the bridge to the Oasis and the exit. By the time the parade got to you and then went past, you'd probably be done by 4:30. You then hop on a bus to the TTC and transfer to a monorail to the MK. If you hit all those without any delays, you might jsut make it.

Unfortunately, it's rather rare that timing is that exact.

Relying on the transportation system I wouldnt do it. I would try to switch something else around. There will always be hold-ups somewhere........

instead of getting a bus to TTC...you could look for one to one of the resorts on the monorail loop and get on the monorail there

Thanks!

Kblais going by your trip counter it won't work, but thank you!!!!

I'm going to call a couple of times a day and hope for a change... but the idea about the resort bus is a good one. Thanks!

We do have a car we could drive to AK and then to MK, but not sure if that would help depending on how full MK is that day????

I'm not sure of the bus routes, but a lot of times the TTC-bound bus from the Studios and Animal Kingdom also stops at one or more monorail resorts. If that is the case, I'd suggest getting off at the first MK-area stop and getting on the monorail wherever that is.

Hey... just thought I would follow up in case anyone else ever finds themselves in this sitch. LOL

We made it with 15 minutes to spare... got a spot for the parade in AK about 30 min in advance right across from the tree on Discovery Island... so we could boogie on out of there. right after the parade passed (think it was a little after 4:15)... we swiftly walked to the buses... were debating between the TTC and EPCOT (no bus directly to MK was available)... decided to go with EPCOT.. but as they were loading 2 scooters a TTC bus came up and there wasn't a line for that one.. so we switched... ended up being a bad move since 2 more scooters came and took forever to load since they had a hard time "parallel parking"...while the EPCOT bus went on its merry way. LOL thought we were in trouble... but made it, got the monorail and walked to Liberty Tree... got seated before our 5:15 ressie.

So definitely doable!!! we had a delicious dinner and got the kids on Dumbo and the carousel twice LOL before we had to leave for the 7:00 close.

^I think it's amazing that you pulled that off. I personally wouldn't try it. I would either change the reservation or forego the parade. That just seems too tight, especially relying on Disney transportation.

With a car I might feel more comfortable, but you never know the traffic you may hit leaving and whatnot. Then getting to the monorail, whether you drive to the Grand Floridian or TTC.

Here's a story for you along these lines.

Last week at WDW we did AK all day and then had a reservation at Boma for 6:20 pm.
Easy to catch an AK Lodge bus from AK, right? 5 minute trip.

Well, somehow we managed to jump on a bus just as it was leaving. We saw the words 'Animal Kingdom' on it and forgot to look for the word 'Lodge'. The bus was in about the right place according to the signs.
As the bus pulled away, the recording said, 'Welcome, folks. We'll be at Saratoga Springs in just a few minutes."

Aaaah !
We rode all the way to Saratoga Springs, hit all the bus stops, and then headed back. We told the bus driver what we did - wrong bus with Boma reservation.
The bus driver was nice enough to drop us directly at Animal Kingdom Lodge on the way back. She refused a tip. She said she did it because "she was a Christian lady".
We made our Boma reservation thanks to a nice bus driver.

:)

That is a very nice story to hear. It is great to hear about people doing things CMs or otherwise simply because they care, and don't expect reward for it...

I hope you let her managers know.

well i have had seating before and have been late. they will still seat you when they have a seat available. i wouldn't worry about getting there a few minutes late. i would watch the parade but the tree and then walk down to the bus and get one that goes to the comp hotel or any of monorail ones. you can walk from the comp hotel. it is only a few minutes walk over to the park from there. it only take about ten minutes to get from a.k. to comp. you have an hour that. i would just have fun and don't worry about the time. your on vacation and have fun.

While they will seat you if you are a few minutes late, I would still focus on the time. When people are late, it becomes discourteous to the CMs and the other guests who are waiting.
