AK open until 1am?!?! (August)

In December we hit AK for the EMH and there was nobody there. We rode Kali 6 times without even getting out of our raft and the only reason we got off is my DW was getting sick. All of the other rides were walk on and I mean get off and walk around and jump in a seat 0.00 wait. I think there might be a big change with EE, but it will still be a great park for EMH.

According to Intercot...

Animal Kingdom will operate for all guests, August 6-19 -- 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Then, on the Aug 7th and 16th, there will be EMH evenings for Resort Guests, keeping the park open until 1am.

Wow.. too good to be true?

I just checked the park hours for August on Disney's internal website and it has the park closing at 7:00 p.m., so with EMH, that keeps the park open until 10:00 p.m. That sounds more reasonable.

Close at 6pm from Aug 6-19, than 5pm after that. Only open until 7pm from Aug 1-5.

We did extra hours in December and AK becomes a totally different park at night. The dark seems to add authenticity and the lights do not overwhelm. The midway in Dinoland doesn't seem so silly at night. It becomes the small town fair that I think the Imagineers intended. Walking to Dinosaur is creepy at night, hearing the dinos in the brush. Scared the fool out of the 5-year-old! :lol: I'm the only AK fan in our big family, but everyone had a great time at night. Try it!
