My boyfriend and I are going to eat at Boma and are not renting a car (due to be under 25)... What is the best way to get back to Caribbean Beach? Thanks!

The cab is really the best option. We are kind of cheap when it comes to cabs at WDW - there's FREE transportation, so why in the world would you pay for a cab? But after a big meal at the Poly last year, and then trying to get back to OKW, we really decided it was worth it to get the cab. Saved so much time!!!

Be sure to have bell services at the resort call the cab for you. They'll get a reputable company, and are just so easy to work with. I appreciate and love to use the services offered by each area of the resorts!

Thanks guys. I wasn't aware buses at Magic Kingdom left from the park gates... I always thought in order to reach your cars and buses, you needed to take the monorail to the TTC. So, if I am staying at Caribbean Beach, will I ever be taking the monorail or only buses if I am not park hopping? I will miss the monorails if this is the case!!! Do the buses also go straight to the Epcot gates...? :( Anyway, sounds like Downwtown Disney for the hub after dinner. Thanks.
Honestly, honey - THINK TWICE before using DD as your hub after dinner. Splurge and take the cab! You're looking at likely over an hour of transport time vs. twenty minutes or less... I know it's an expense, but it's not that bad and you'll regret it if you don't!!

And, yup, you won't take monorails to the MK unless you decide to go specifically for a monorail ride... Which you should really do!!! :) Even though it has been a few years since I've stayed at a monorail resort, I still take a trip around the Seven Seas Lagoon every trip!

Ok, my bf and I were trying to be somewhat frugal (well, that didn't work cause we were orginally planning on staying in a value resort for 4 days and now we are ata a moderate for 5), but you all have convinced me to take a cab. i do use public transportation in boston every day, but i'd rather not have the annoyance of a long ride on my vacation! giddyup.

It's not a long ride, just potentially long waits at bus stops. Animal Kingdom Lodge to Downtown Disney is probably the longest distance bus ride but even then it's still 15 minutes tops. Problem is you could wait for 20 minutes at AKL's bus stop, then wait another 20 minutes at Downtown Disney's bus stop to get a bus back to Caribbean Beach.

Has he ever been to Downtown Disney before? Don't just use DD as a hub, make it a destination. If you don't have anything else planned that evening, it's worth walking around DD when the weather is nice. Eat dinner at Boma, then go to DD, walk around, see the Lego store, wander through Pleasure Island and people watch, see whatever muscian is playing in front of the House of Blues, get desert at Ghiardeli. Then go get a bus to CBR.

For those of us who use bus transportation to/from work a long ride includes the wait time too. I know last July I was so annoyed waiting for a bus to go to DD.

well, my bf did have quite the obsession w/ legos (being the mit nerd he is now)when he was little, so maybe we'll stop there. otherwise, i plan on waking up at the crack of dawn each day for a full day in all the parks, so don't want to stay out to late. i wish i could take him to disney quest for that kickass pirate thing, but it costs extra. :(

I'm sorry if this option has been mentioned; but here's a compromise; why don't you take a cab to the restaurant itself, and then on your way back, leisurely take one of the busses. If you won't be in a rush to get back to your hotel, this would seem like an economical option. Also, from time to time, the resorts unofficially offer private shuttles to the other resorts, if you ask. Disney has a fleet of white vans that are occasionally used for that purpose. You have to ask (and again, sometimes they don't offer that service), but it's worth a shot.
