My boyfriend and I are going to eat at Boma and are not renting a car (due to be under 25)... What is the best way to get back to Caribbean Beach? Thanks!

To get back, depending on the time, you may have to take a bus to downtown disney, and then transfer onto a bus back to your hotel. The other option is taking a bus to the transportation/ticket center... Hope this helps...

Unfortunately there is no direct resort to resort bus system. Your best bet is to take the bus from your resort to AK and from there take the bus back to AKL.

like what everyone else said no buses run from resort to resort (except for the all star resorts buses) but what you could do is get the bus to the animal kingdom then from there get a bus to the carribbean beach resort or get a bus to downtown disney then back to your resort.

hope it helps, have a great time

I have always found the Downtown Disney Bus routes to take forever (Stops at Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and Typhoon Lagoon) and therefore recommend not makinng a transfer through Downtown Disney. Your best choice would be to take a bus to AKL or MGM. MGM is the closest to CBR and obviously AKL is the closest to AK.

Meega, nala kwishta!
Is this for breakfast or dinner?

For later in the day, a bus from any of the parks or DD would get you there. Breakfast will be from one of the parks. Not sure if the DD busses run in the early morning? Anyone else know here?

You could call a cab as well.

Have fun!

MGM sounds like a good idea for a transfer, only it's for a dinner reservation. May not be done with dinner til 8:30.... looks like the TTC is the best bet? Thanks guys.

TTC is definitely NOT your best bet, simply because no resort buses go there anymore.

My two cents - take a cab! It would cost you less than $15 each way... It cost DH and I $20 including tip to go from the AKL to the WL one night, so it should be cheaper from AKL to CBR.

If you really want to take the bus consider switching at MGM or Epcot, stopping to see the night shows and then go back to CBR. At all costs, do NOT go to DD to do all of the switching - it's a HORRENDOUS transportation hub.

Going to AKL from CBR: Take a bus to MGM, then at MGM take AKL bus to your meal. Give yourself about 30-45 minutes to be safe. Might take a lot less but AKL has lots to see while you wait.

Going to CBR to AKL after dinner: Depending on time of year and what day, some parks may be open late. For instance, Epcot is open til 9. Take a bus to Epcot or MGM and then switch to the CBR bus. If a park isn't open late enough, take the bus to Downtown Disney from AKL, then switch to a CBR bus.

It's not the fastest in the world but it will certainly get you there

how can no resort buses leave from the ttc?? how would one get back to their resort from magic kingdom? don't all monorails from magic kingdom go to the ttc? i have never been to the park w/o a rental car, but i was assuming that is how it would work...

i am going in january. i think mgm is open until 7 then. may not get done w/ dinner til about 8:30 or 9. don't think going there as a hub to get a resort bus would work.

when it comes to taxis, could i just go to the front desk at akl and have them call me one? or do they have cab stands?

sorry so monay questions... but still pretty conufused! :/

Resort busses leave from each PARK, as well as busses to other parks. (i.e., if you are at Animal Kingdom, you can catch a bus to Epcot)

No, only the TTC monorails go to TTC. The other loop goes to the monorail resorts only (Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, then back to MK)

You should have no problem getting a bus to your resort at MGM when you finish your meal.

Sorry...don't know about cabs, but I assume the front desk or bell services could do that for you. At the very least, they can tell you the procedure.

The bus system works well for me because I hate to drive, and I especially hate to drive in bad traffic when I don't know where I'm going.

It gets tricky going from resort to resort, but I always use a park as a hub and it's just fine.

MK has it's own bus stops located near the park gate. So it's actually faster to get to MK from a resort by bus (which drops you off right by the gate) than to drive yourself (park at TTC then Monorail or Ferry Boat to the main gate). The TTC is only really used to change monorail trains or to catch buses from the MK area to MGM or AK.

You are right that MGM would not be a good hub to get BACK to CBR after dinner. Downtown Disney is open til 2am so you can almost always use that as a late night hub. Heck while you're there, might as well walk around and do some shopping. It's a slightly longer bus ride than MGM but only by 10 minutes. You'll be fine using it as your switching point after dinner.

Guest services at any disney resort can call a cab for you (or at least give you the number to call yourself). They do not have taxi stands. I've seen a few cabs waiting at certain resorts but I've always assumed those were called cabs waiting for guests.

Thanks guys. I wasn't aware buses at Magic Kingdom left from the park gates... I always thought in order to reach your cars and buses, you needed to take the monorail to the TTC. So, if I am staying at Caribbean Beach, will I ever be taking the monorail or only buses if I am not park hopping? I will miss the monorails if this is the case!!! Do the buses also go straight to the Epcot gates...? :( Anyway, sounds like Downwtown Disney for the hub after dinner. Thanks.

First of all - don't panic - you're going to have a great time!
As mentioned before, there are no busses to the resorts at the TTC, so you'll have to go to one of the parks first or DTD (not your best bet). It's not difficult, and you won't have to actually enter the parks to get a bus there. Whatever park you go to will have a bus going back to CBR too (after all, if bus service is still running TO the park, it will surely be running FROM the park). It's a little time-consuming, but just relax and enjoy!

As a side note, you were correct about the resort monorail. It also stops at the TTC, and is a good alternative to the MK monorail during busy seasons.

Have a magical vacation!

Off topic (kind of). At one point you could go to other resorts from your own via bus. When I went on my honeymoon in 1993, the buses did not have the electronic signs on them. They had flags of different colors to tell you where they were going. I don't remember though if you could get to all resorts from yours or if they just shared buses between certain resorts.

Does anyone remember and know if you could get to all resorts or just a few and when they stopped doing it?

Thanks,
Mike

Your only Disney transportation option at CBR is a bus.

However, one of my favorite things to do is ride the monorail as if it were another attraction. I especially like the loop through Epcot.

Another favorite thing is to check out the other resorts, which is easy to do for the monorail resorts.

We do this too - and be sure to ask if you can sit up front in the monorail!

The buses drop off and pick up near the gates for each of the 4 parks. They are usually off to one side or the other of the main gates. As Yellow Shoes said, CBR is only serviced by buses. However all of Disney transportation is available to you. If you have park hopper options on your tickets, you can use Disney transportation to go between parks. Feel free to take the monorail between MK and Epcot. Feel free to take the Friendship boats between MGM and Epcot's back door.
