I think its Fake and Generated when their is no anniversary or milestone DIsney makes up a new theme. Magical Gatherings = nothing new or interesting right now.

Good point. But 4 isn't as magical for the bottom line as 8+ are. :hammer:

But i'd be interested to know whether its actually attracting large new groups, or just people who annually or bi/tri-annually already and just want to try the next Disney marketing campaign out. But the only way that would be a legitimate survey is if an independent one was done which are a rarity.

Ok kids I am earning a degree in Hospitality and Tourism.

The #1 reason people travel, this is official, is to visit family and friends.

Also, people have more fun and feel more secure in a group they know and trust. People tend to want to experience something with other people they know with them.

Disney paid attention to the research and went with it.

Maybe the 8 thing was high, but the prinicple idea of Magical Gatherings is well founded.

Ok this got off topic, and I still have another question about this Discovery Boats. On the Resort Channel (of which I hear has changed) when I was there (April 03) showed the DB as part of AK, they didn't say anything about them but they showd the boat going by the Alidor or w/e its called, now if this stuff is still there, they should do what another post said just call it AK Transportation or something with Transportation in the name, or just put something to see, transportation is not fun at all, but WDWR makes it fun with the audio (hate the new one) and scenery to see like the native american tribe, I just think its stupid of AK to close it just because people didn't look at the map to see where they were going, how could it be like JC if they are going in a circle? And having to walk from the entrance to DinoLand is horrible, idk if the boats helped that but going fro mentrance to central hub then back the same distance to the entrance to DinoLand just takes too much time.. but thats my opinion, does anyoen agree with poor design?? They tried to go with MK hub system but they made it too big to walk...:hammer:

One of the big problems with the boats was the loading and unloading efficiency and they tried to run too many boats at once, so people would be waiting about 10-15 minutes just for the boat to pull in the dock and unload.

When they decided to make it a round trip instead of a one way half trip. The river wasn't wide enough at the boat docks so the other boats couldn'r pass each other while it was at the dock. So it created a large traffic jam and a lot of people waiting for long times in the line and on the boats.

I remember the wait times for the boats where horible. People where herded down to the docks and the loading of the boats was very slow. combine that with the humidity and lack of atractions in the opening year. People are always going to complain. Now if they brought back the night time safari that was always worth the wait!!!!!!!!

If I might interject a couple of thoughts here:

(1) I do believe that the Magical Gatherings idea is fair to everyone. For several years now, there have been offers for guests in the way of numerous discount programs. But nothing was really offered in terms of people bringing in "groups" so to speak. So to say that this program leaves out families would be false. There have been numerous opportunities over the last few years for families to save.

(2) Wait times are sometimes what makes the trip special for us. It seems everyone wants to just go from ride to ride in the blink of an eye. I suggest slowing down and enjoying your surroundings. Enjoy the moment.

I know this is off topic, but I'm just responding to some of the comments I'm seeing on this thread.
