Airport Connection Times

Hi,
We are flying into Newark & connecting to Tampa in Dec from the UK. Can anyone tell me if 1h 30mins is enough time to clear immigration, customs & drop off luggage?

Thanks in advance

Sorry Mod's, just spotted the air transport, apologies for posting in wrong area.

They say at least 2 hours for international travel and they mean it. My inlaws got there about 1 1/2 hours early and they would not let them thru because they would make it on time for the flight.

It took us almost 2 hours to check in to fly home from WDW last month (granted it was spring break) and there were many who were waiting longer.

I would give yourselves 2 hours at the minimum....3 may be better.

I've connected through Newark on numerous occasions from Manchester and I would say that 1 1/2hours will be pretty tight.... it can take upwards of an hour just to clear customs and immigration (including collecting and re-checking in luggage) plus Newark is a fairly large airport to navigate. Having said that (and being a travel agent myself and therefore knowing a fair deal about the ins and outs of airline travel) your travel agent should only have sold you the flight if the airline has sold it as a valid connection - meaning, the airline believes that 1hr30mins is ample time to connect from International to Domestic - therefore, if for some reason you are unable to make your connection because of lack of time between flights, it is the responibility of the airline to put you on the next available connection - they would not leave you stranded....

Apologies for the long-winded-ness of the answer and if it doesn't make sense ..... sorry...
