My family and myself usually fly Southwest. They have daily non-stop flights from MCO to MHT, which is 20 mins from my parents house. And I can usually get very good rates.

My flights have always been smooth, on time, and the one time I had a problem (My goof... I'm a dork!), they were more than happy to help me out and correct the situation. The flight attendants have always been courteous as well... especially this cute one from awhile back... he would always smile at me, check up on me, make sure I was okay, etc... I think he was flirting with me... :D

Actually, Nashville to Tampa isn't a very long flight, but then again, I'm not ever flying out of Nashville. I guess it depends a lot on where you're coming from and going to.

I'm flying from St. louis to Orlando round trip in November for 120 bucks on Southwest. I'm constantly checking all airline prices, and that beat every other airline by at least 70 bucks.

Generally I fly JetBlue....mainly because of the DirectTV built in to the seats and the free drinks at the terminal. The guy that owns JetBlue also owns Southwest (who is still charging twice the amount for larger passengers)

JetBlue's origins date back to 1993, when CEO David Neeleman sold his first airline, Salt-Lake City based Morris Air, to Southwest Airlines. It was as a founder and President of Morris Air that Neeleman proved that innovative, high-quality airline service coupled with low fares will attract a strong and loyal market.

Following the sale of Morris Air, Neeleman went on to help launch WestJet, a successful Canadian low-fare carrier, and to develop the e-ticketing system he had implemented at Morris Air into Open Skies, the world's simplest airline reservation system. Neeleman sold Open Skies to Hewlett Packard in 1999.

With three successful aviation businesses under his belt, Neeleman decided the time was right to bring his airline formula to the world's largest aviation market, New York City. In July 1999, having secured a hand-picked management team and $130 million in capital funding from investors such as Weston Presidio Capital, George Soros and Chase Capital, Neeleman surprised the aviation industry with the announcement of his plan to launch a new airline that would bring "humanity back to air travel."

I don't believe they are owned by the same people, thought both companies are publicly held.

Don't know about ownership, although I could have sworn SWA was publicly held... *shrug*

But in regards to charging extra for larger passengers, I for one agree with it. Airline coach seats are cramped enough without having my neighbor overflowing into my seat as well. It's one thing if it's a relative or a friend, but I dont want to have some random stranger touching me, or leaning on me for a 3+ hour flight! Let us both be comfortable, cuz I know they can't be too comfortable squeezing into one seat... And don't forget... we American's like our personal space! :)

As a disclaimer, I have nothing against larger people. I personally am far from thin (however, I wouldn't consider myself fat or obese). I have family members who are large, and I have good friends who are large. And the majority of my co-workers are large. (When I transferred, the joke was, "Tyler, you're not fat enough to be a bus driver!!!")

Actually, we flew with a stopover in ATL, which surprises me even more for how cheap it was. I've never seen them that cheap since. 120 from St, Louis to Orlando is a good price and you're right, untouchable, I would think.

BY the way for you people that ride Delta I would be very afraid! There was a story on the local news of Delta losing a dead body! It seems this family was having there deceased fathers body transported to Mexico to be barried there and Delta lost him! HOW DO YOU LOOSE A DEAD BODY? If they can loose a dead body, can you imagine what they can do to your baggage?

oh I agree I don't like someone's fat oozing over into my seat that I paid for.

And yes both SWA and jet Blue are on the stock exchange.

Seriously, it depends where I'm headed to...

If I'm going to NYC or any city in the northeast, I fly JetBlue..

If I'm going to the west coast or the midwest (Except Detroit!) I fly American or Delta. I take Northwest to Detroit..

If I'm going to Puerto Rico, I fly American... there's no other way to get there short of swimming...

If I'm going to Canada, I fly Air Canada, and the same applies for most foreign destinations, I'll fly their national airline (short of Cuba... I will NEVER fly Cubana de Aviacion again! I'll take Air Jamaica or Mexicana de Aviacion)

Well.. Delta was lucky they didn´t mention which airline lost it on the news here in Mexico.
They just mentioned that the body was sent to Greece and they were given another guy, a black american guy with a cigar and a picture of the WTC inside the casket.
The guy is now back to Mexico and I don´t know where they sent the other one with his cigar!

They only found out because one of his daughters wanted to say "bye" and opened the casket!
